L ouis Vuitton has recently unveiled its long-anticipated beauty line, Louis Vuitton La Beauté, a natural extension of the House’s rich legacy in craftsmanship, travel, and innovation. With Dame Pat McGrath, DBE, at the helm as Creative Director of Cosmetics, the debut collection introduces a curated selection of lipsticks, balms, and eyeshadows that reflect the Maison’s artistry and cultural vision.
Louis Vuitton’s decision to enter the beauty space feels like an evolution rather than a departure. Since 1854, the Maison has crafted vanity cases and accessories, later expanding into powder compacts, brushes, and mirrors during the 1920s. Over the past two decades, Louis Vuitton has also been responsible for backstage beauty looks at its runway shows. The launch of La Beauté is therefore a seamless continuation of its creative journey, driven by the shared vision of Nicolas Ghesquière and Pat McGrath.
A tribute to Louis Vuitton’s legacy

Every detail in La Beauté reflects Louis Vuitton’s values and heritage. The inaugural line focuses on essential categories: LV Rouge and LV Baume for lips, and LV Ombres for eyes. Shades such as Rouge Louis pay homage to the House’s founder, while Beige Memento echoes its signature leather. Even the product names – Glorious Quest, Rose Odyssée, Nude Nécessaire – carry references to Louis Vuitton’s iconic motifs.
The House’s renowned Art of Travel is also expressed through beauty-dedicated leather goods, from lipstick pouches to a handcrafted Vanity Trunk, underscoring its artisanal expertise.
The collection features high-quality metals such as aluminium, brass, and zamak, with hand-lacquered Monogram details. Designed to be refillable, the lipsticks and eyeshadow palettes reduce waste and also ensure longevity, with refills available.
Formulas are enriched with naturally derived, upcycled flower waxes, offering skincare benefits alongside colour. Adding a sensory dimension, the lipsticks carry subtle scents of Grasse rose, jasmine, and mimosa, while balms feature fresh notes of mint and raspberries, all composed by Master Perfumer Jacques Cavallier Belletrud.
Innovation meets sustainability

Sustainability is integral to Louis Vuitton La Beauté. By upcycling flower waxes from the Maison’s perfumery in Grasse, the products avoid petrochemical-derived alternatives. LV Baume and LV Rouge, for instance, use waxes from rose, jasmine, and mimosa by-products, contributing to circular beauty practices.
Formulations feature up to 94% naturally derived ingredients, including plant-based squalane and camelina flower oil extract. Shea butter provides nourishing hydration, while refillable packaging minimises environmental impact. Secondary packaging is fully recyclable, crafted from responsibly managed, FSC-certified cardboard.
Every formula under Louis Vuitton La Beauté is developed with the highest safety standards in LVMH laboratories. Independent laboratories and expert toxicologists rigorously test each product for skin compatibility, performance, and efficacy. Importantly, Louis Vuitton does not conduct animal testing, a policy in place since 1989 – long before the EU ban.
Celebrating diversity and inclusivity

Inclusivity lies at the heart of Louis Vuitton La Beauté. The lipstick collection alone spans 55 shades, from soft neutrals to bold statements, ensuring every individual can find their perfect match. The range also features 14 nuanced nude tones, calibrated to different undertones and skin depths, rejecting the notion of a single “universal nude”.
Each product has been tested across diverse skin types and tones to guarantee both comfort and performance. Hydrating, long-wear formulas adapt to different skin conditions and climates. Pat McGrath’s design process drew inspiration from fashion shows, natural light, and leather tones, ensuring that shades resonate authentically across global audiences.
La Beauté is now available in Malaysia on Louis Vuitton’s official website and from 29 August onwards at Louis Vuitton Kuala Lumpur The Exchange TRX store.
