Sunday always feels like a good day for brunch and we know just the place to visit in the city – Strato at Troika Sky Dining. The Italian wing of the award-winning group behind Cantaloupe, Fuego and Mr Chew’s Chino Latino Bar now serves a hearty Sunday Brunch menu featuring 16 dishes including antipasti, mains, side dishes and desserts.

The refillable food
We think Italian’s great for brunch because of its rich, robust ingredients (read: cheese, pasta and more cheese) that keep you filled until dinner. But what’s better is that Strato’s Sunday Brunch offers refillable portions, so even those with big appetites will find their tummy capacities met. For smaller eaters, we’ve picked out some of our favourite dishes we’d recommend to save some room for.
Antipasto – Chilled ricotta gnocchi with zucchini pesto
Cheese fanatics, this dish is a must-try. The sweet pesto sauce and grilled zucchinis brilliantly uplift the lighter ricotta gnocchis for a refreshing start to our meal.
Antipasto – Salt baked baby beetroots, stracciatella, pistachio granola
Sweet and salty, soft yet crunchy, this antipasti takes our taste buds on an Italian adventure with every spoonful. We like how the fruitiness of the beetroots are balanced by the gelato, while the pistachios and granola add some crunch to the overall dish.
Pasta – Beef rib cappelletti in bone marrow broth
If there’s one dish we’d ask for seconds of, this would be it. The bone marrow tastes heartwarmingly comforting and the beef rib cappelletti offers something to bite in between – simple but outstanding.
Main – Black mussels with white wine & fresh herb
Seafood buffs will enjoy the large, fresh mussels enliven by white wine and a mouth-watering broth, just as we do. Even the bread proves appetising – it has a nice, buttery crunch with the fragrance of fresh herbs when eaten on its own, and an extra burst of savoury goodness when dipped in the broth.
Main – Roasted wagyu beef tagliata, wild leek salsa verde
Medium-rare is how we like our wagyu and Strato nails the doneness of the game to our liking, resulting in cuts that have a slight crisp on the outer parts and a tender, juicy middle. The salsa adds an invigorating boost on the palate, and the cheese toppings give off a truly Italian touch.
All the Insta-worthy desserts
Granted, most of the dishes would look amazing on social media; but being the dessert addict that we are, our eyes naturally gravitate towards sweet treats and Strato’s are certainly eye-catching. Take your pick from the candied almond tiramisu (our favourite ending to our meal) to the chocolate budino (a sweet, savoury and crispy delight) or mixed fruit crosata (the most striking, presentation-wise).
The easy-going atmosphere
Food aside, we like to take our time with brunch and catch up with good company while at it. Strato’s cool, rustic interiors sets the perfect atmosphere for the occasion – and that bird’s eye view of the city is a major plus point. The long glass panes also allow plenty of natural light to enter, so that makes taking photos (read: #ootds and #foodgrams) all the more effortless.
The excuse for wine
Italians are known for drinking wine by the bottle, so what better way to complement our brunch feast than with wine? Strato offers a decent selection of red and white wines from Italy, as well as prosecco and champagne. Now our brunch is complete.
