More than just a sneaker convention, SneakerLAH has become a cultural gathering for Malaysia’s streetwear, fashion, and music communities. Of course, “LAH,” a colloquial term embedded in Malaysian slang, works to capture the event’s distinctly local flavour, making it a beloved fixture for enthusiasts nationwide.
A sneakerhead’s paradise
Since its inception in 2015, SneakerLAH has evolved into a must-attend event for sneaker and streetwear aficionados from Malaysia and across the region. This year’s event will showcase exclusive collections from top brands like ASICS, CLOT, X-LARGE, Keen, Freitag, and Peak KL, with more than 70 vendors and resellers setting up shop to buy, sell, and trade coveted items.
One of the main highlights is the debut of the ASICS Skyhand OG “Mamee Monster,” a collaboration between SneakerLAH, ASICS, and Malaysia’s iconic snack brand Mamee. Inspired by the nostalgic joy of Mamee Monster snacks, this sneaker embodies a playful, Malaysian twist, capturing memories that resonate with many locals.
This year, SneakerLAH expands beyond footwear and fashion with the addition of E-SportsLAH, in collaboration with GamesMY. This dedicated e-sports area will host gaming tournaments, free play zones, all-star showmatches, and live watch parties, providing an immersive gaming experience next to the main convention floor. E-SportsLAH entry comes with exclusive perks, including Mobile Legends: Bang Bang rewards, limited-edition merchandise, and access to a lucky draw.
SneakerLAH 2024 offers much more than shopping. Visitors can explore the Closet Tour, a live exhibition inspired by SneakerLAH’s popular video series, showcasing prized collections from prominent personalities like Hans Abdullah and Sheng Yi. The Influencer Pre-Loved Market will also feature items from well-known local influencers, adding an element of personal style to the shopping experience.
Additional attractions include the “Morph by Phyn” art installation, live podcast sessions by BorakLAH, and a 3×3 basketball tournament organised by PEAK KL. Competitions, exclusive product drops – including limited-edition merchandise from CLOT x Adidas and SneakerLAH x X-LARGE – trading pits, and ASICS-sponsored lacing challenges round out the weekend’s offerings.
To keep the energy high, SneakerLAH will also feature live performances from some of Malaysia’s most exciting music talents. The lineup includes Lucidrari, hip-hop group 53 Universe (pictured in feature image), multilingual rapper Lil J, and the vibrant Yung Kai, along with DJ sets by Bad M.O.B, Traction Control b2b Mia, Jony Maddkidz, Viene, and Smooth Brain Girly. Emceeing the event will be the returning fan-favourite, Dan $hiv.
Tickets for SneakerLAH 2024 are available online, with general admission priced at RM30 and VIP tickets at RM80. VIP attendees gain early access two hours before general entry, express lanes, and a complimentary pair of official SneakerLAH socks. E-SportsLAH can be added as an upgrade for RM20, providing attendees with in-game rewards, exclusive merch, and access to dedicated gaming zones.
U Mobile is enhancing the SneakerLAH experience with a unique 360° AR Nike Air Force 1 Custom Try-On contest running from 27 October to 27 November. This interactive campaign allows fans to virtually “try on” custom AF-1s designed by local artist Edna Creationz, with a chance to win a real pair by posting their most creative AR shots online. Attendees dressed in orange on SneakerLAH weekend also stand a chance to receive exclusive U Mobile x SneakerLAH merchandise, and U Mobile subscribers benefit from fast-track access and are eligible to win lucky draw prizes worth up to RM33,000.
This November, SneakerLAH promises to be an unforgettable experience where attendees can immerse themselves in the world of sneakers, streetwear, gaming, and music. Don’t miss out on Malaysia’s premier event for all things sneaker culture – where every step brings a new discovery!
