The world of gastronomy came together once again in Valencia, Spain to celebrate The World’s 50 Best Awards 2023, sponsored by S.Pellegrino & Acqua Panna. The awards ceremony, held at the city’s Les Arts Opera House, honours the pinnacle of gastronomic talent from 24 territories across five continents.

Odette, the French fine dining restaurant nestled in the National Gallery Singapore, was recently named the top restaurant in Asia at the ceremony. The restaurant also bagged a 14th spot on the prestigious list, an upgrade from last year’s 36th. Odette follows the principles of modern French cuisine imbued with Asian flavours, as seen in dishes like the Kampot pepper-crusted pigeon or Pho foie gras.

In addition, chef-owner Julian Royer received the Estrella Damm Chefs’ Choice Award 2023, the only peer-voted prize in the World’s 50 Best Programme which honours a chef who has contributed positively to the global culinary scene over the last year.
