Contrary to popular stereotypes, Yen Kuok, Robert’s youngest daughter, wasn’t handed everything on a silver platter.
Ever wondered what it’s like to be the child of Robert Kuok a.k.a the richest man in Malaysia? We’d picture it to be something along the lines of Henry Golding’s character, Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians; but things aren’t always what they seem, are they?
Contrary to popular stereotypes, Yen Kuok, Robert’s youngest daughter, wasn’t handed everything on a silver platter, she revealed to Hong Kong media. With seven elder siblings and a noble family name to live up to, it’s no surprise that she went out of her way to carve a name for herself.
In 2015, she did so by founding Guiltless – an online consignment store offering pre-loved and off-season luxury items.
Within 5 months, her first attempt at entrepreneurship proved a huge success. She went on to open a Guiltless pop-up store in Hong Kong last year, which met with such positive reception that it ran for two months compared to the standard duration of two weeks.
Unsurprisingly, a portion of the clothes offered on the website were from her very own wardrobe.
Speaking of her wardrobe, did we mention her Birkin collection?
She did, however, prefer Judith Leiber at one point. Well, who are we to argue?
What else does she do (outside of fashion) on her day off? Our guess is taking a ride on her favourite “Beast”…
…or travelling the world…
…or simply reminisce being daddy’s little girl.
Regardless, this heiress has certainly earned our respect in her own right.
