Descending from two generations of prestige and power in Hong Kong’s business and politics realms, it goes without saying that Kenneth Fok has big shoes to fill. His grandfather, the late Henry Fok, was one of the wealthiest business tycoons in the country, and held seats on a number of national political committees.
Timothy Fok, his father, serves as the chairman of the Fok Ying Tung Group and Foundation, the president of Hong Kong Football Association, and for 14 years, was a representative in Hong Kong’s legislative council.
Instead of breaking away from the family business to create his distinct path, as many heirs do, Kenneth fully embraces his heritage in his work as an entrepreneur, politician, and the vice-president of the Hong Kong Olympic Committee. Last year, he announced his bid for the seat of the Functional Constituency of Sports, Performing Arts, Culture and Publication, the same role on the legislative council his dad held from 1998 to 2012.
Kenneth has his goals set on boosting the city’s sports and entertainment sector, and as his 35k followers on Instagram know, his passion for these local industries overflows into his social media posts.
Read on for a glimpse into his life shared online, showcasing the many hats he happily wears as a husband, athletics enthusiast and promoter of the arts.
Kenneth is married to four-time Olympic diving champion Guo Jingjing, no doubt a contributing factor in his zeal for the athletics sector. The proud husband posts dedications to Jingjing regularly, whether it’s to celebrate her birthday or a bittersweet send off as she heads off to the Olympic Games as a diving referee.

Even post-Games, his work with the Hong Kong Olympic Committee keeps him busy as he endorses better broadcasting rights for athletic games. Other local sport organisations aren’t left out of the equation, though, as he is seen attending events like a tennis invitational at the Hong Kong Tennis Association. Proving he’s no armchair sports aficionado, Kenneth brings his family to bouldering activities and tries out new-fangled games like Teqball and Roundnet.

A patron of the local arts and performance scene, Kenneth often brings attention to local painters like Lin Minggang, while also supporting international exhibitions like the large-scale art tech experience, Digital Art Fair Asia. Appreciating creative arts in all its forms, we see him visiting a showcase of children’s artwork and attending a sign language stage musical.

Championing the many formats and varieties of musical performance, Kenneth can be spotted enjoying himself at productions like classic orchestral concerts and traditional Chinese operas. His love of song and dance isn’t contained within the confines of conventional theatre halls either, as he snags a seat at cutting edge shows, such as a dance and Chinese opera crossover held on a modern runway stage.
