If you’re tuned into the crazy rich Asians crowd, or are engrossed enough in social media that you can rattle off influencers’ names in a pinch, then Singaporean influencer and jewellery designer Calista Cuaca needs no introduction.

Born in December 1998 to socialite Jamie Chua and business tycoon Nurdian Cuaca – who have been divorced since 2011 – it’s pretty obvious that Calista grew up living the glitzy, privileged life alongside her older brother, Cleveland. While most of us aren’t necessarily familiar with the thought of lavish gifts and inheritances, Calista was only nine years old when her mother bought a heart-shaped solitaire pendant and matching ring amounting to SGD300,000 as a gift for the former’s future wedding.

Having grown up with a mother who has been modelling since she was 15 years old, and attended some of the most fashionable social events, Calista developed an interest for fashion and style at a young age. Despite that, she actually furthered her tertiary studies in Marketing at James Cook University, before taking a one-month fashion styling course at Istituto Marangoni in London.

In 11 May 2020, Calista also launched her YouTube channel under the moniker “Calikins”, where she shares personal vlogs, fashion and beauty-related content, as well as the rare gaming video such as her Call of Duty Modern Warfare and Fall Guys playthrough. As of date, she has over 38K subscribers, and more than 299K followers on Instagram.

It’s not difficult to tell that Calista and her mother Jamie has a close mother-and-daughter relationship, especially since both of them are equally passionate about fashion – despite having different tastes. While Jamie leans more towards feminine silhouettes, Calista seems to prefer the edgier, more androgynous side of luxury.

As a fashion and beauty influencer, it should come as no surprise that you would see Calista made up and dressed up in some of the world’s most renowned luxury brands. Whether she’s rocking a Balenciaga jacket with chunky combat boots, a full face of Armani Beauty, or dressed from head-to-toe in Louis Vuitton and Maison Margiela, she effortlessly rocks any style and makeup look – even Crocs!

In 2019, she launched a jewellery collection called IAMLIMITEDEDITION, where she co-designs and curates with her friend-turned-creative-partner, Dyon Foo. The brand features delicate yet androgynous pieces, blending a rebellious rock ’n roll spirit with refined elegance.

She’s also the proud mum of her adorable chihuahuas, Monte Shen and Mavis.

Of course, like any socialite living the high life, Calista is also known to spend her time travelling and indulging in the finer things in life – from skiing in Niseko, Japan and attending fashion shows in Paris, to soaking up some sun on a yacht in the Maldives.
