Selena Gomez boldly launched her beauty empire, Rare Beauty, in 2020 with a clear vision: to create more than just a “beauty club” for girls and boys. She aimed to establish a brand that would serve as a safe haven for the community to prioritise mental health.
To achieve this ambitious goal, Selena and her team have embarked on a monumental endeavour known as the Rare Impact Fund. Their mission is to raise an astounding $100 million in the next 10 years, ensuring that mental health resources are readily available and accessible to individuals of all genders, backgrounds, and socioeconomic classes worldwide.
In taking a provocative step to the matter, this year, Rare Beauty by Selena Gomez and Sephora have announced collaboration for a good cause. For 24 hours only—on 10th October, 2023—all sales from the brand at Sephora will be generously donated to the Rare Impact Fund as part of their Make a Rare Impact campaign. This collaboration serves as a powerful statement, challenging societal norms and sparking conversations about the importance of mental health.
Speaking on Sephora Malaysia‘s Instagram profile, Selena said, ‘’We are proud to donate 100% of @rarebeauty sales to the Rare Impact Fund for 24 hours. We are committed in providing mental health resources and support to young people around the world.’’
“Join me on October 10th by shopping for Rare Beauty at Sephora, online or in-store. Together, we can #MakeARarelmpact,” Selena captioned the post.
Since the introduction of the Rare Impact Fund, the campaign has successfully raised a total of $6 million in contributions and has distributed over $3 million in additional support to organisations across the globe.
