OMEGA timepieces are preparing to commemorate the esteemed America’s Cup 2024 by paying homage to the reigning champions, Emirates Team New Zealand. This remarkable chronometer showcases a captivating 45.5 mm Seamaster Planet Ocean, cloaked in an elegant black hue with a subtle touch of turquoise, serving as a resolute tribute to the team’s emblem.
To further enhance the regal nature of this esteemed timepiece, the black ceramic case is meticulously crafted with a brushed black ceramic and white enamel diving scale on its unidirectional bezel. The iconic triangle-framed dot at the 12 o’clock position is also prominently displayed, featuring white Super-LumiNova that emits a luminous green glow in low-light conditions.
On the matt ceramic dial, OMEGA has incorporated a reference to pre-race protocol by including a COUNTDOWN INDICATOR at the 3 o’clock position, complete with a flagged START. The indicator’s hand and subdial ring are adorned in the turquoise hue of the Emirates Team New Zealand logo, which is also featured on the minute track, number 12, and central seconds chronograph hand, embellished with an America’s Cup trophy counterweight.
To ensure the safety and preservation of the sailing watch during its time on land, a distinctive presentation box has been designed, drawing inspiration from the emblem of the Emirates Team New Zealand.
The grand unveiling, held at OMEGA’s exclusive event at the preliminary Regatta in Vilanova, was gracefully conducted by OMEGA’s esteemed president and CEO, Mr. Raynald Aeschlimann. “Much like our friends from Emirates Team New Zealand, a year races by fast, so the time is right to show our true colours.
