Aside from the sportier Speedmaster “Moonwatch” and Seamaster models, OMEGA’s De Ville Prestige collection has its fair share of loyalists, especially among fans of classic dress watches. Originally launched as part of the latter collection in 1960, the watchmaker officially introduced De Ville as a separate line in 1967.
More refined, colourful and youthful compared to the aforementioned sports watches, the collection was quick to amass a following of its own. Building on its heritage of urban elegance, OMEGA recently announced the addition of five striking new dials to the De Ville family.
Like their predecessors, the latest additions are characterised by a restrained dial with “railway” minute tracks, date window at 6 o’clock, alternating Roman numerals and cabochons and an applied OMEGA logo below the 12 o’clock mark. This minimal design allows room to play with colour and texture, which the brand has translated into combined vertical and sun brushing finishes on the dial in the new 39.5 mm watches.
There are two stainless steel and 18K red gold models, featuring either a silver or PVD linen-coloured dial, as well as two stainless steel and 18K yellow gold models, featuring either a PVD Moonshine™ Gold or PVD greened dial. The gold-hued dial version exclusively features diamond hour markers in lieu of the cabochons in the other models. Powering these four models is the OMEGA Co-Axial Calibre 2500.
Completing the lineup is a stainless steel ‘power reserve’ model, with PVD blued dial, power reserve indicator at 6 o’clock and additional small-seconds subdial. Of the new models, this is the only one powered by OMEGA’s Co-Axial Calibre 2627.
All of the latest De Ville Prestige additions come with matching bracelets or leather straps depending on the case material, as well as OMEGA’s 5-year warranty. Discover the collection in the gallery below.
