FirstClasse Arena: Pickleball Social Tournament
The courts at the newly opened PLAYA Racquet Club at PARC Subang came alive with energy last Wednesday as FirstClasse Arena officially made its debut with our first-ever Pickleball Social Tournament, leading up to the highly anticipated Paramount Cup 2025. Held in partnership with BP Healthcare and Doctor2U, the event blended fitness, finesse, and friendly competition – reflecting FirstClasse Malaysia’s ethos of living not just a finer life, but also a fuller life.
Even a rainy start to the day could not dampen the spirits of the community of athletes, readers, and fitness enthusiasts that gathered under the lights for a full evening of social play, games, and interactive experiences at our partner booths. A rally to remember
Following an opening speech from FirstClasse Malaysia’s Managing Director Leonard Lo and Editor Natalie Khoo, the Pickleball Social Tournament officially kicked off with the pairing of registered participants to form 32 mixed doubles teams. Each pair then battled it out across multiple rounds on the courts, from group stage matches to the nail-biting semi-finals and a thrilling finale that had spectators cheering on the edge of their seats.
The top three duos walked away with bragging rights as well as exclusive paddles and merchandise from Franklin, the Official Ball Partner of the event. For guests not competing, social play courts also offered a chance to pick up a paddle and join the fun – proof that pickleball’s growing appeal lies as much in its inclusivity as its fun.

No FirstClasse event is complete without a touch of indulgence, and this one was no exception. Guests enjoyed complimentary food and refreshments throughout the evening, with highlights including the free flow of caviar from Caspian Caviar House and Cavira Caviar, Llaollao’s signature frozen yoghurt with delectable toppings, and refreshing Shae.Co coconut beverages.
What’s more, players toasted to their victories (and consoled their near-misses) at the courtside Dink and Drink sessions with G4 Tequila courtesy of DAJIN Beverages, featuring four handcrafted expressions: Blanco, Reposado, Blanco 108, and De Madero Blanco. Besides the food and drinks, guests also got to take home a pickleball key charm from Nature Loop, crafted using recycled materials.
Those with a competitive streak beyond the net tried their luck at our Target Practice, winning vouchers from Franklin, G4 Tequila, Llaollao, Shae.Co, and Nature Loop – adding a playful twist to the tournament atmosphere.

As the night wrapped with the winner announcement and prize-giving ceremony, guests continued mingling and volleying late into the night, already buzzing about the next edition. At the end of the day, the true highlight was the lively, sportsmanlike spirit that filled the courts at PLAYA Racquet Club from start to finish.
