Dancing with the Waves is a powerful new exhibition by Malaysian artist Denis Chai that reflects on the survival and resilience of the Bajau “Sea Nomads” of Sabah. Through a striking mix of abstraction and realism painted on reclaimed driftwood, the works capture the fragility of life at sea while offering stories of endurance, belonging, and hope. More than an artistic journey, the exhibition also carries a humanitarian purpose, with part of the proceeds dedicated to supporting education for Bajau children in Semporna.
