After a lack of big releases in the first half of the year, Netflix appears to be ramping up its original content for the rest of 2022 with intriguing new releases. The Hargreeves are back on Netflix for a third season. This season, the Umbrella Academy returns to the present, convinced that they have finally restored the timeline and stopped the initial apocalypse. However, after a brief celebration, they find that things aren’t quite as they left them.
Man Vs Bee, June 24
Rowan Atkinson, the renowned comedic actor, is back in a new Netflix comedy series. Rowan Atkinson and William Davies’ new British comedy series Man vs. Bee stars Atkinson as Trevor, a house caretaker who finds himself in a war with a bee in order to avoid irreversible damage.
Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area, June 24
Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area is set in the same fictional universe as the previous series, and it depicts a hostage crisis on the Korean Peninsula with a brilliant strategist and a diverse group of characters.
Stranger Things Season 4: Vol 2, July 1
Stranger Things 4‘s last two episodes premiere on July 1st, and are said to be 98 and 85 minutes long, respectively. Despite the fact that the season is only two episodes long, there appears to be a lot more to cover, including the much-anticipated battle between Eleven and Vecna.

A Netflix series has been announced for one of the most popular horror videogame franchises of all time. In Resident Evil, Jade Wesker battles for survival in a world overrun by infected monsters fourteen years after a devastating virus triggered a global catastrophe while being tormented by her past, her father, and what happened to her sister, Billie. Lance Reddick is set to play Albert Wesker.
Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight, July 14
Kung Fu Panda fans rejoice! Kung Fu Panda: The Dragon Knight is an all-new series premiering on Netflix, with Jack Black returning to voice Po, the Dragon Warrior. Po teams up with Wandering Blade, a no-nonsense English knight, on an epic mission to find the magical weapons first and save the world from doom.
The Sandman, August 5
Based on the critically acclaimed comic book series written by Neil Gaiman, the upcoming fantasy series follows Morpheus, the king of dreams and one of the seven Endless. After being held captive for 105 years, Morpheus escapes and sets out to restore order to his kingdom of the Dreaming.
Cobra Kai: Season 5, September 9
This September, Cobra Kai returns with a brand-new season. Following the events of season 4, Daniel LaRusso must recruit the help of an old friend now that Kreese is in prison and Johnny Lawrence has put his karate aside to focus on repairing the damage he’s caused.
The Midnight Club, October 7
Mike Flannigan, the maestro of horror, is back with a new series this October. Every night at midnight, a group of seven people gather to tell each other horror stories. They make a deal one night that whoever is the first to succumb to their condition will be in charge of communicating with the others when they die. Strange things start to happen after one of them dies.
Wednesday, TBA
Wednesday is a coming-of-age supernatural mystery comedy about Wednesday Addam’s years as a high school student at Nevermore Academy, where she tries to perfect her psychic abilities while navigating her new relationships. Jenna Ortega stars as Wednesday Addams, Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia Addams, and Luis Guzmán as Gomez Addams.
The Witcher: Blood Origin, TBA
The Witcher: Blood Origin is a prequel to The Witcher that will be released sometime in 2022. Blood Origin will take place 1200 years before the events of the television series, depicting the birth of the first Witcher as well as the events leading up to the “Conjunction of the Spheres.” It will also go into the history of the ancient Elven society prior to its death.
1889, TBA
The creators of Dark are back with a new Netflix series set to premiere in 2022. 1889 follows a group of European migrants as they board a vessel bound for New York City. However, their journey becomes a nightmare when they come across another migrant ship floating on the open sea.
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities, TBA
Guillermo del Toro’s Cabinet of Curiosities is a Netflix horror anthology series based on Guillermo del Toro’s short story of the same name. “A collection of the Oscar-winning filmmaker’s carefully handpicked stories, described as both equally intelligent and horrifying,” according to the series’ description. Two of the episodes are del Toro’s original works, while the others are written and directed by a variety of filmmakers. The series is set to launch in late 2022, though no date has been set yet.
