The Koenigsegg Konigsei concept car’s design inspiration comes from the humble egg.
Habits are hard to break and perhaps that’s why Koenigsegg’s latest concept seems to belong right in the Batcave alongside Batman’s many Batmobiles. Its Japanese multinational automotive manufacturer, Mitsubishi Motors, is after all, the one behind Batman’s many stylish cars.
This new dashing concept however, dubbed the Koenigsegg Konigsei, is designed by the revered Maximilian Schneider, and marries high performance with exotic delineation.
Interestingly, this concept is actually influenced by the shape and texture of an egg. The Koenigsegg features a wrap-around windshield, wide bodywork and subtle double-bubble cockpit. The body and interior is even crafted using real recycled eggshells! A 6.4-litre hydrogen V8 engine powers the Koenigsegg Konigsei, which harnesses over 1,618 horsepower, jetting from 0 to 60 in less than 3.5 seconds, and drag-limited top speeds of 274mph.
Though the Koenigsegg Konigsei is yet to be realised in the physical world, there’s no doubt that with the 21st century’s technological advancements, its potential existence can surely happen.
