A gloomy Friday turned into a dazzling one, when Malaysia’s most fashionable people – designers, stylists, muses, celebrities, artists, influencers, and more – gathered in the heart of Kuala Lumpur for a night of celebration.

This year’s Kuala Lumpur Fashion Awards returns to award the top people in fashion, encompassing the entire industry, after a year of excellent feats. Organised by KL Fashion Week and presented by AmBank Private Banking, the Grand Ballroom of the Mandarin Oriental hotel turned into a stage for maximalist expressions, true to the theme of ‘An Expression of Maximalism’.

Among the invitees were fashion icons like Scha Alyahya, Awal Ashaari, Datin Elvina Mohamed, and To’ Puan Syamim Freida, as well as Siti Saleha, Shah Jaszle, and Amelia Henderson who were also presenters for the night.

This year a total of 21 awards were given out, five of which are new categories that have been added to place a greater focus on inclusivity and sustainability too. Presiding over the deliberation process were a panel of 10 judges, made up of fashion magazine editors, critics, and icons in their own right.

Interspersing the awards, guests were treated to captivating performances, including a rousing opening act by the Ed Remmurd Drumline, an exciting performance by hip-hop dance crew ELECOLDXHOT, and a moving stage from songstress Evie Feroza.
