Jaslyn Cakes
Founded by Jaslyn Rangson in 2014, Jaslyn Cakes started out as a humble cafe occupying half a shoplot in Bangsar. It wasn’t long before the bakery café garnered a loyal following among locals, and word spread to other café hoppers and cake lovers in the larger Klang Valley. After much success serving its butter cakes and cookies in a homey, rustic setting, the Le Cordon Bleu alumnus opened a second outlet in Mont Kiara to the same effect earlier this year. Today, they stand amongst the best cake shops in KL, known for using natural, quality ingredients in their baked goods. W jaslyncakes.com

Think a yam and pine nut cake shaped like the starchy tuber or a raspberry, rose and lychee cake in the form of a striking red dome. There’s also an assortment of breads, pastries and other limited-edition confectionaries for the true dessert lover to keep coming back. I @madhatter_desserts

Dew

Tripling as a florist and (sometimes) a speakeasy, Dew came about a few years after its sister establishment to offer more refined, delicate pastries. Unlike the former’s warm interiors, Dew is a green oasis spruced up with florals both in its ambience and cakes. Expect pretty, Instagram-worthy creations made with premium ingredients and a love of art and creativity here. W dewbangsar.com

The menu changes from time to time, with themed and seasonal creations often appearing for limited-time-only periods. This way you can keep coming back for more unique flavours! W xiaobycrustz.com
