Serums seem to be in the spotlight right now, with brands boasting more potent formulas than ever before.
Another month, another set of beauty products to add to our wishlist and potentially our shopping cart.
With the turn of winter to spring, we welcome skincare products designed for the warmer weather as well as makeup collections that are fun, vibrant and wild. Serums seem to be in the spotlight right now, with brands boasting more potent formulas than ever before.
See what caught our eye below.
YSL Beauty Le Cushion Encre de Peau Leather Edition
Cushion foundation fans will want to collect YSL Beauty’s new Le Cushion Encre de Peau because how cool is a couture designed crocodile leather cushion compact?! Fitted with the new Fusion Ink Cushion Foundation, it leaves a medium-coverage luminous finish that’s long-wearing and buildable. Available at YSL Beauty stores and online now. Peter Thomas Roth Potent C Power Serum
Vitamin C has often been touted for its anti-aging skincare benefits, but not many are aware that it is a relatively unstable ingredient. To ensure its efficacy and retain its potency without irritating the skin, Peter Thomas Roth has achieved a scientific breakthrough in the form of a serum with 20% THD Ascorbate. This makes it 50 times more potent than traditional vitamin C and equally more effective than ascorbic acid in terms of anti-aging, firming and brightening benefits. Available at Sephora stores and online now.
Kat Von D Lock-It Powder Foundation
We all love a good liquid foundation, but for on-the-go applications and touch-ups, there’s nothing like a powder compact. Kat Von D’s answer to that is its new vegan Lock-It powder foundation that promises to deliver a full-coverage, long-wearing matte finish. The sexy black and red packaging is an added bonus, making it a convenient and stylish addition to your makeup bag. Available at Sephora stores and online now.
Marc Jacobs Beauty Velvet Primer Epic Lash Primer
Marc Jacobs Beauty’s Velvet Noir Major Volume Mascara has been a best-seller in the volumizing mascaras category for some time. Its new best friend, the Epic Lash Primer, is about to make your lash game even better. Made with peptide and vitamin B, the primer works as a conditioning base to strengthen your lashes and maximise the effects of your favourite mascara. Its unique soft beige colour also allows you to wear black mascara over it without leaving a grey-ish finish. Available at Sephora stores and online from 28th March.
Glamglow STARPOTION Liquid Charcoal Clarifying Oil
Famous for their unique, transformative products, Glamglow is back again with a few additions this season. One that catches our attention is the STARPOTION facial oil that transforms from black to clear upon application, delivering antioxidants to help protect the skin against toxins and pollutants. It can also be used on the elbows, cuticles, neck and hands too. Available at Sephora stores and online now.
Lush Naked collection
What’s so amazing about Lush’s new Naked Skincare collection is the fact that it is vegan and plastic packaging-free! Developed as part of the brand’s efforts towards more ethical and environment-friendly products, the collection will include facial oils, cleansing balms and an eye mask. The range of facial oils particularly begs our attention because they come in solid form and are available in unique variations, including Amazon primer, argan, banana skin and light touch. The collection will be available at the Lush Pavilion store from 18th March.
Dr. Roebucks Tama Healing Mask
If you have not heard of this Australian skincare brand, that’s because it’s only launching in Sephora – and Malaysia – this month. The brand’s philosophy is to incorporate multipurpose actives and super ingredients that are hand-selected for maximum efficacy, resulting in results-driven formulas. We’ve been keeping an eye out for the Tama Healing Mask from our visit to Sephora Spring 2019 Press Day because it combines the powers of turmeric, manuka honey and avocado oil to repair damaged skin and deliver deep hydration and anti-aging benefits. Look out for the brand’s full range at Sephora stores and online from 20th March.
Beauty Blender Bounce Foundation
Yes, the infamous pink sponge we call our trusty BeautyBlender now has a sister foundation to complement its effortless blending. Aptly called the Bounce Foundation, its lightweight formula glides and ‘bounces’ smoothly on the skin, leaving a natural velvet matte finish. Plus, it is infused with hyaluronic acid and white birch extract for extra hydration benefits on top of 24-hour long coverage! Available at Sephora stores and online from 22nd March.
Sunday Riley A+ High Dose Retinoid Serum
This serum earns a place on our wishlist for its unique blend of ingredients, including retinol ester, retinol, Coq10 and Hawaiian white honey. Like vitamin C, retinol is a potent and potentially aggravative ingredient which Sunday Riley has managed to stabilise to provide the anti-aging benefits often associated with retinol, minus the side effects. Available at Sephora stores and online now.
Tarte Tarteist™ Pro Remix Amazonian Clay Palette
Those who enjoy playing around with bold eyeshadow shades will love the new Tarteist Pro Remix palette, which comes in the brand’s signature Amazonian Clay formula. The art-inspired palette consists of twenty unique shades in matte, lustre, metallic, duochrome, shimmer and glitter finishes that are ideal for mixing and recreating one-of-a-kind looks. Available at Sephora stores and online now.
