The Polestar 2 BST edition 270 is the latest addition to Polestar’s tuning-based Polestar Engineered product line. Polestar’s most dynamic electric driver’s car ever, the new version draws on decades of tuning experience. Only 270 units will be constructed, exclusively for Europe, North America, and China, as the name suggests.
To raise itself above regular Polestar 2 models, the production car contains mechanical upgrades as well as crucial design enhancements. The end result is a vehicle that provides a greater dynamic driving experience.
“We had a great reaction to the specially modified Polestar 2 we showed at the Goodwood Festival of Speed in 2021 and the response made it clear – we should create a version like that for production,” says Thomas Ingenlath, Polestar CEO.
The two electric motors and 78 kWh batteries have been upgraded to deliver a maximum power output of 350 kW (476 hp) and torque of 680 Nm, as well as improved response to match the sharper dynamics.
Lower ride height (-25 mm), specially created and unique Öhlins 2-way adjustable dampers with auxiliary adjustment chambers located under the hood, a front strut bar, 20% stronger springs, and new black 21-inch alloy wheels inspired by Polestar 1 are among the chassis alterations. The 245/35R21 Pirelli P Zero tyres were designed exclusively for this vehicle. Brembo’s regular 4-piston brakes are still present.
According to Polestar, the limited-edition model comes with a Charcoal WeaveTech interior and comes in Thunder or Snow exterior colours. The bumpers and side skirts are entirely painted, giving the body a more substantial appearance. A matte black body stripe, as well as a full-body Battleship Gray satin wrap, are available as options. The side mirrors have a glossy black finish. The brake callipers, damper elements, valve caps, and seatbelts all have the trademark ‘Swedish gold’ detailing.
Production for the vehicle is planned to begin in mid-2022, with deliveries expected from the fourth quarter. Visit www.polestar.com for more information.
