Come with us on a magical journey aboard the Disney Adventure, where nostalgia meets an immersive experience at sea. As Disney Cruise Line’s largest ship to date, the vessel also marks a significant milestone as its first-ever ship to homeport in Asia.
We were among the first to experience it, invited on an exclusive preview sailing in early March. The evening prior marked the ship’s Christening Ceremony – a longstanding maritime tradition – featuring a special appearance by Robert Downey Jr., the ship’s godparent. It offered a first glimpse into the Disney magic that was about to unfold.

First unveiled in 2024, the Disney Adventure has been eagerly anticipated by fans across the region. Offering 3D2N and 4D3N sailings, the ship departs from Singapore with a concept that sets it apart from the rest of the fleet: there are no ports of call. Instead, every part of the journey takes place onboard, transforming the cruise into a self-contained world of entertainment, dining, and storytelling.
What does a Disney cruise look like when the destination is the ship itself? Ahead, we take you inside our 4D3N journey – a closer look at the experiences, details, and defining moments that shape this new era of Disney cruising in Asia.
First impressions
Embarkation was a seamless start to the journey, especially with online check-in completed ahead of time. From arrival at Marina Bay Cruise Centre to boarding the vessel, the entire process took only around 30 minutes, making for a smooth and efficient transition from land to sea.
Stepping onboard, the welcome is anything but subtle. Two rows of crew members lined the entrance, clapping and cheering as we entered, instantly setting the tone for the experience ahead.
Like many first-timers, we headed straight to locate our stateroom once onboard, not realising that the Let’s Set Sail welcome show was taking place. This lively kickoff moment, complete with the ceremonial ship horn send-off, marks the official start of the voyage and is worth catching if you can.
Our first impression of the ship was overwhelming, but in a good way. With seven themed areas and countless spaces waiting to be explored, it’s easy to feel both excited and slightly disoriented at the same time. Arriving earlier does give you a bit more breathing room to explore, settle in, and get familiar with the ship before everything begins.
The staterooms
When it comes to accommodation, the Disney Adventure offers a range of stateroom types to suit different travel styles, including Inside, Oceanview, and Verandah options, with the latter offering more space and private balconies with varying views across the ship. For our 4D3N Disney Adventure sailing, we stayed in the Accessible Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah.
We’re not entirely sure why we were assigned an accessible room, and at first, we didn’t even notice. It shares most of the same features as a standard Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah, with the accessibility-focused differences only becoming apparent later on.
In terms of layout, the room is largely similar to a standard Deluxe Oceanview with Verandah. You still get a spacious 253 sq ft layout, a queen bed with a sleeper sofa, a sitting area, and a private balcony with ocean views. The signature Disney touches are also very much present, with each stateroom themed after a Disney film, ours featured a Frozen motifs. The in-room TV was another highlight, offering a wide selection of Disney, Pixar, and Marvel movies– we ended up watching three during our stay.

The standout feature, in our opinion, was the view. Our verandah overlooked Wayfinder Bay at the back of the ship, with the open ocean stretching beyond it. It quickly became our favourite spot to unwind, and we even caught live music performances and parts of the Moana: Call of the Sea show right from our balcony.
Another highlight of the stay was the stateroom host, who plays a key role in the overall experience. From delivering our luggage and transforming the room each day to creating towel animals and assisting with anything we needed, they were a constant and thoughtful presence throughout the trip.
The main differences come in the bathroom and accessibility features. Unlike the standard stateroom’s two-door split bathroom, our room had a single, larger bathroom with a roll-in shower, fold-down seat, grab bars, and an adjustable showerhead. There was also a ramped threshold to the balcony, along with lowered fixtures and emergency features designed for ease of use.
For those looking to elevate the experience, the ship also features an extensive selection of Concierge staterooms and suites. These range from family-sized options to expansive one-bedroom suites and even Royal Suites, some spanning over 2,000 sq ft with private balconies and whirlpool tubs. Concierge guests also enjoy perks like priority boarding, exclusive access to a private lounge and sundeck, and dedicated service throughout the voyage.
Dining experiences
One of the defining features of a Disney cruise is its rotational dining concept, where guests rotate between different main restaurants each evening while their service team follows along. It’s a thoughtful system that allows you to experience multiple dining venues without sacrificing personalised service.
For our sailing on the Disney Adventure, we dined at Navigator’s Club, Animator’s Table, and Pixar Market, each offering a distinct atmosphere. Navigator’s Club leans into the classic Disney charm, with appearances from Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Daisy, who move through the space entertaining guests, with moments of singing that bring the room to life.

Animator’s Table is perhaps the most interactive of the three, where guests can draw their own characters, which are then animated and displayed on screen during the meal. Pixar Market, while more relaxed and without a dedicated show element, makes up for it with its sweeping views from Deck 18, offering a scenic backdrop to your dining experience.
Beyond the main dining rooms, the ship offers a wide variety of casual options that cater to every craving. Gramma Tala’s Kitchen serves a mix of Asian favourites, while Stitch’s Ohana Grill dishes out satisfying burgers and fries fresh off the grill. At Cosmic Kebabs, you can dig into flavourful, hearty kebabs, and Mowgli’s Eatery delivers comforting Indian dishes packed with spice and depth.
There’s also Bewitching Boba and Brews, a popular stop for drinks – because let’s be honest, we Asians love our boba. Be sure to grab yours early, as it tends to sell out quickly. Up on Deck 18, Pizza Planet serves crowd-pleasing pizzas that make for an easy, go-to meal between activities, while Wheezy’s Freezies offers soft serve ice cream that’s perfect for cooling down in the tropical heat.

Additionally, the ship also features premium dining options, including Palo Trattoria, which focuses on refined Italian cuisine, and Mike and Sulley’s Flavors of Asia, offering a more upscale, immersive dining setting. While we didn’t try these, they are worth considering for a special occasion onboard.
That said, we found ourselves gravitating more towards the quick service options throughout the trip. Spots like Gramma Tala’s Kitchen and Pizza Planet were convenient, satisfying, and perfect for a more relaxed, flexible dining experience between activities.
Entertainment and onboard activities
Entertainment is undoubtedly one of Disney’s biggest selling points, and the Disney Adventure delivers on that promise with an impressive lineup of shows, activities, and experiences happening throughout the day.
Live performances take centre stage onboard, with productions like Seas the Adventure, Remember, and Avengers Assemble drawing in crowds with their high-energy storytelling and familiar characters. Fans of Duffy and Friends will also be delighted to catch their dedicated live show, adding a unique touch you won’t typically find on other Disney ships.

One of the most magical moments at sea comes in the form of fireworks. Disney Cruise Line remains the only cruise operator to offer fireworks at sea, and the newly introduced The Lion King: Celebration in the Sky is a standout.
Set to iconic songs like Circle of Life and Can You Feel the Love Tonight, the show lights up the night sky in a spectacular tribute, complete with narration by Shah Rukh Khan. It’s a truly unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of the cruise.
Character meet-and-greets happen throughout the ship, and while you might chance upon them spontaneously, it’s best to check the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app to book dedicated sessions and avoid missing out.
For a more laid-back activity, head to Baymax Cinemas, a four-theatre complex inspired by Big Hero 6, where you can catch Disney, Pixar, and Marvel films throughout the day.

If you think that’s all, think again. There are multiple pools onboard, including the Infinity Pool inspired by the Infinity Stones, as well as water slides located in the Toy Story-themed area. Younger guests are well taken care of too, with Oceaneer’s Club catering to ages three to seventeen, alongside a nursery for little ones under three.
For those looking to unwind, Infinite Bliss – Elemis at Sea offers a range of spa treatments. While treatments come at an additional cost, the Rainforest Room is complimentary and quickly became one of our favourite spots. Think salt room saunas, a hammam steam room, cold pools, experiential showers, and heated lounge chairs, all overlooking the ocean.
The fitness centre, also located within Infinite Bliss, is free to use and even includes a juice bar.

Shopping is another experience in itself. There are two World of Disney stores onboard, along with Treasures Untold, but the standout has to be the Duffy and Friends shop, which is exclusive to this ship and a must-visit for fans.
With so much happening onboard, our biggest piece of advice is to check the Navigator app frequently and plan your days ahead – otherwise, it’s all too easy to miss out on something special.
The final verdict
The Disney Adventure is, at its core, an all-encompassing experience – one that goes far beyond just a cruise. From the thoughtfully designed staterooms and diverse dining options to the world-class entertainment and attentive service, nearly everything onboard is included, making it feel like a seamless, value-packed getaway.
This sailing is best suited for families with young children, Disney fans, and even multigenerational groups looking for a shared experience that caters to all ages. The highlights are plenty: rotational dining, Broadway-style shows, fireworks at sea, immersive themed spaces, and the consistently warm, personalised service from the crew.

With most experiences, dining, and entertainment included, what you’re really paying for is the feeling – the kind of magic that Disney does best. It’s not just about what you do, but how it makes you feel throughout the journey.
Whether you’re travelling with little ones or simple a lifelong fan, this 4D3N sailing proves that the Disney magic goes beyond the parks – if anything, the Disney Adventure feels even more immersive, more relaxing, and just as unforgettable.
