Fashion just got a clearer definition.
While many trends broke surface at the Spring/ Summer 2017 shows of New York, Paris, London and Milan, one distinct trend shattered iconoclasm.
Meet the barely there, see-through, nothing-to-hide trend of lucite. Some call it perspex, others go by plexiglass. It can be made of PVC just as well as glass. It’s not just made for minimalist dearest, it reigns even for the neo-bourgeoisie.
The celebration of the sublime nothingness was seen with Alexander Wang’s strappy sandals, Stella McCartney’s earrings, Ermanno Scervino’s crystal clear box clutch and Miu Miu’s mermaid-like heel. Clearly, and we mean no pun, it’s a bandwagon worth getting on just to see through it all. So go clear.
