Few destinations in the world are as instantly recognisable as Marina Bay Sands (MBS). With its futuristic silhouette of three towers crowned by the legendary SkyPark, MBS is more than a hotel; it’s a landmark, a lifestyle hub, and Singapore’s most iconic playground.
We recently spent two nights at this extraordinary resort for the groundbreaking of its upcoming ultra-luxury resort and entertainment destination, and what stood out wasn’t just its grandeur but the sheer variety of things to see and do. Check-in took some time, but with art installations, cafés, and The Shoppes at our doorstep, the wait passed easily.

When we finally got our keys, our Sands Premier Room greeted us with sweeping city views and plush comfort, a perfect retreat to return to after exploring all that MBS has to offer. And that’s the essence of MBS: not just a place to sleep, but a world to experience. Whether you’re here as a family, a luxury traveler, or a night owl, MBS has something for everyone – and it never truly sleeps.
For families: A playground for all ages
At first glance, MBS might seem like an adults-only playground, but it’s more family-friendly than you’d expect. Beyond the glamour of casinos and nightlife, the resort offers plenty to keep both kids and parents entertained.
The SkyPark Observation Deck is a natural starting point. Soaring 57 stories above the city, it offers sweeping views of Singapore’s skyline. Kids love spotting landmarks like Gardens by the Bay or the Singapore Flyer, while parents soak in the panorama that stretches all the way to the South China Sea.

A short stroll away, the ArtScience Museum brings a different kind of wonder. Its lotus-inspired exterior is a marvel in itself, and inside, families can dive into exhibitions that blend art, science, and technology.
The highlight is teamLab: Future World, a permanent interactive playground where drawings spring to life and every step sets off dazzling displays. Alongside it, a rotating line-up of limited-time exhibitions ensures there’s always something new to discover.
Back inside The Shoppes, the Digital Light Canvas is another family favourite. Here, you can walk across a glowing floor where fish dart beneath your feet and blooms of colour unfurl with every step. Kids can even sketch their own creations and watch them appear in brilliant animation.

As the sun sets, the whole family can gather at the Event Plaza for Spectra, a nightly light-and-water show that pairs colourful projections and dancing fountains with a stirring soundtrack.
In short, MBS is not just poker tables and champagne – it’s a playground where wonder spans every generation.
For luxury lovers: Indulgence at every level
If indulgence is your love language, MBS speaks it fluently. The Shoppes bring together the world’s most coveted names, from Louis Vuitton’s glass island boutique to Chanel, Gucci, and Hermès. Window-shopping here is an experience in its own right, but there’s no shortage of temptations if you’re ready to splurge.
The dining is just as dazzling, with over 80 restaurants spanning celebrity chefs to casual gems. On our trip, standouts included WAKUDA’s modern Japanese creations, estiatorio Milos’s fresh Greek seafood, and Maison Boulud’s refined French brasserie classics.

Another highlight was Jin Ting Wan on the 55th floor, where Executive Chef Albert Li reimagines Cantonese cuisine with dishes like Roasted Pipa Duck and Alaskan King Crab, paired with an extensive tea program curated by Head Tea Master Jacky Zhao Gang.
Luxury here also extends to the suites, with the newly refurbished Paiza Collection representing the pinnacle of MBS hospitality. We toured these ultra-luxury residences in the sky with Sean Liew, Associate Director of Butler Services, and saw firsthand how MBS’s billion-dollar reinvestment has redefined grandeur. Featuring bespoke design, curated art, and 24-hour butler service, the Paiza Collection feels less like a hotel stay and more like a private home above the clouds.
From couture shopping and world-class dining to residences in the sky, Marina Bay Sands delivers indulgence at every level.

For night owls: The destination that never sleeps
When the sun sets, MBS comes alive with experiences tailored for night owls. During our stay, we discovered the Skyline Jazz Sessions at the Paiza Sky Residence, an intimate series set against glittering city views. With live jazz, an atmosphere that oozes exclusivity, and nightcaps served with finesse, it was nightlife at its most sophisticated.
While we didn’t have the chance to experience every after-dark offering, the resort’s playground truly comes alive at night. The Infinity Pool, perhaps the most photographed in the world, stays open until midnight. Sunrise swims are magical, but there’s something cinematic about floating after dark, cocktail in hand, as the skyline twinkles below.

Cocktail lovers are spoiled for choice. At KOMA Singapore, drinks are as dramatic as their setting, blending Japanese-inspired flavors with theatrical presentation. Mott 32 puts a clever spin on the “cold tea” tradition with cocktails like the bold Sichuan Smash and the rich Kowloon Coffee, inventive blends layered with Chinese ingredients. For rooftop views with handcrafted drinks, Spago After Dark is unbeatable, pairing skyline vistas with signature cocktails.

If nightclubs are more your style, MARQUEE Singapore is the place to be. With international DJs, dazzling light shows, and Infinite Pour packages, the party doesn’t stop until sunrise.
Prefer to stay in? MBS turns your room into a retreat, with spa-like bathrooms, and thoughtful touches like tea and cocktail trolleys. Add in 24-hour dining and in-room entertainment, and a night inside feels effortlessly indulgent. Whether you’re winding down or staying up, the experience feels every bit as curated as what awaits outside your door.
Final thoughts: Why a night in is worth it
Spending a night at MBS is not just about having a place to sleep; it’s about immersing yourself in a world where architecture, entertainment, and hospitality come together on an extraordinary scale. Every moment feels like an invitation to indulge, explore, and revel in one of Asia’s most exciting destinations.

Ultimately, a stay at MBS is less about checking into a hotel and more about stepping into an experience. So whether you’re here for adventure, indulgence, or inspiration, there’s something waiting for you. Come and see for yourself why Marina Bay Sands is Singapore’s most iconic playground.
