If you’re not travelling outstation this Chinese New Year, The Exchange TRX is the place to be this festive season. Inspired by the beauty of the Imperial Gardens, guests are invited to experience ‘A Tale of Spring’, a visual and sensory spectacle that blends tradition with contemporary elegance.
From now till 9 February 2025, the vibrant retail and lifestyle destination in the heart of KL will be showcasing immersive installations, live cultural performances, festive dining, exclusive shopping, and a tiered rewards programme.
“As a vibrant, multicultural nation, Malaysia is known for its rich tapestry of celebrations, and ‘A Tale of Spring’ embodies this spirit by offering an educational and immersive journey into the symbolism and artistry of Chinese New Year,” said General Manager of The Exchange TRX Trevor Hill.
At the heart of the celebrations is a stunning Imperial Garden installation at the Central Exchange. This immersive display captures the timeless allure of traditional Chinese gardens with lush floral arrangements, symbolic motifs, and intricate design details.
A standout feature of the garden is the Zodiac Journey Bridge, showcasing 12 intricately crafted zodiac sculptures that celebrate the traits of Chinese astrology. Beneath the bridge lies the Blossom Tunnel, where vibrant blooms create stunning photo opportunities for visitors to capture memories with their lovedones.
Stroll along the Bamboo Walk to discover a serene Koi Pond and an elegant gazebo, complete with mechanical storks that add a realistic, enchanting touch to the tranquil setting.
Adding to the festive atmosphere are live cultural performances that will be happening every weekend, captivating guests with a blend of artistry and tradition. Twice daily, the venue comes alive with the rhythmic energy of Lion Dances, the graceful movements of Fan Dances, and the melodious sounds of traditional instruments like the guzheng and erhu.
To enhance the festive experience, shoppers who spend RM388 (or RM338 with UOB cards) in a single receipt will be entitled to receive a gold-embossed Auspicious Angpow Set. Bigger spenders – those spending RM3,888 (or RM3,500 with UOB cards) across two receipts – will also take home an Oriental Travel Tea Set alongside the Angpow Set.
As an homage to the beauty and symbolism of classical Chinese gardens, ‘A Tale of Spring’ showcases elements representing growth, longevity, abundance, good luck, and prosperity. Celebrate the Year of the Snake at The Exchange TRX and enjoy this curated experience you wouldn’t want to miss.
