For a long time, the luxury watch industry has disregarded collections targeted towards women, dismissing them as either trivial or simply as the ‘female version‘ of their male counterparts. However, as the voices of female collectors grow louder, demanding a more favourable outcome, it appears that the market is finally moving in a positive direction.

During the prestigious Watches & Wonders event in Geneva, each brand successfully presented an impressive range of exquisite timepieces that exudes elegance, innovation, and timeless appeal. From renowned brands like Cartier, Chopard and Chanel, the spotlight at Watches & Wonders 2024 was undoubtedly stolen by the finest women’s watches.

Piaget Polo Date 150th Anniversary Edition

This year is a big one for Piaget. The brand is marking its 150th anniversary by launching many iconic pieces. The Polo Date watches, available in 42mm and 36mm sizes, have a two-tone effect with rose gold accents on the dial, hands, and date window. Limited to 300 pieces each, these watches have “150” engraved on the second hand to celebrate the milestone. 

On the other hand, the Swinging Sautoir has finally made its long-awaited return, bringing back the glamour of the 1960s and 1970s. Crafted with an 18 karat gold chain and a trapezoid dial, it serves as an ideal accessory to add a touch of elegance when worn over a kaftan.

Reflection de Cartier

Cartier, a prestigious luxury brand, has a rich history in creating women’s watches. This year, the standout piece at Watches & Wonders is the Reflection de Cartier, a stylish bangle that also tells time. It comes in yellow gold, rose gold, and white gold with gemstones. The watch is powered by quartz and cleverly hidden inside the cuff, with its reflection visible on the other side.

Chopard Imperiale

Chopard’s newest 36mm Imperiale has a fascinating dial design. The watch displays a blue-green enamel background with a precise arrangement of white enamel and pink mother-of-pearl marquetry flowers. Each flower has an orange padparadscha sapphire at its centre, while the pink flowers are adorned with diamonds. This pattern resembles the quatrefoil floral motif found in Venetian architecture, specifically in the Doges Palace.

Van Cleef & Arpels Lady Arpels Brise d’Été

For Watches & Wonders, Van Cleef & Arpels showcases the delicate side of nature through its Poetic Complications collection. The Lady Arpels Brise d’Été watch features plique-à-jour butterflies on the dial, which act as retrograde markers for hours and minutes. When the animation is activated, the butterflies come to life, fluttering their wings, while the flowers and grass stems sway gracefully.

Chanel Boyfriend Couture 

The Couture O’Clock collection by Chanel celebrates the brand’s Parisian couture heritage, with clever references to Coco Chanel and her dressmaking tools. The Boyfriend Couture watch boasts a black-lacquered dial adorned with a tweed jacket pattern and diamond buttons, along with an 18 karat gold chain on the bezel – striking the right balance between playful and stylish.

Patek Philippe Twenty-4

Patek Philippe introduced its first women’s watch, the Twenty-4, 25 years ago. The newest version continues to exude elegance and withstand the test of time. At this year’s Watches & Wonder event, the brand showcased its iconic rose-gold cuff-style bracelet, transforming it into a remarkable piece of jewellery. The watch’s captivating deep aubergine sunburst dial will surely captivate even those who aren’t fans of purple, embracing its regal allure.
