The Bridgertons’ love affair continues to captivate audiences, as Netflix has released the official trailer as well as exclusive images for the next prequel series, “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” which will premiere on May 4th, 2023.
Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story, will give fans an inside look at life before the united Ton. Charlotte, a young woman, is forced into an arranged marriage and must contend with an aristocratic political environment. She is also based on a real-life figure who is commonly known to be Britain’s first multiracial queen. The prequel will also follow the stories of Charlotte’s close confidante, Lady Danbury and Violet Bridgerton.
Golda Rosheuvel will return as Queen Charlotte, while India Amarteifio will portray the younger version.
So who is the rising star, India Amarteifio? You may recognise her as the daughter of DCI Roz Huntleyn in the fourth season of Line of Duty. The young actress also starred in Sex Education and in Doctor Who, as Alison. She’s also played minor parts in Military Wives, Unforgotten, The Tunnel, and The Evermore Chronicles. Amarteifio will also be in Sky Original Drama, The Midwich Cuckoos, so she will be seen a lot more in the future.
As of Amarteifio’s personal life, lots have remained undetected. Based on her Instagram, she keeps a low profile figure amidst being a celebrity. A bit mysterious, which just adds to fans’ curiosity.
