Founded in 2016 by the UAE jeweler Ahmed Seddiqi & Sons, it has slowly become a flagship event. Dubai Watch Week sees watchmakers from all corners of the globe, excited to present their latest collections and special editions made specifically for the show.
Ralph Lauren Stirrup Petite-Link
On the eve of the 15th birthday of the Stirrup watches collection, Ralph Lauren introduces two new additions to its iconic collection with the elegant Stirrup Small and Petite-Link.
The Ralph Lauren Stirrup Petite-Link, embellished with one row of diamonds, is introduced with a case measuring a mere 23.30mm by 27mm. Perfectly sized for the female wrist, this modern interpretation of Ralph Lauren’s equestrian heritage contrasts the brand’s iconic stirrup-shaped case with a jewelry-inspired bracelet. Composed of intertwining links with one row of diamonds flowing into one another, the bracelet adapts seamlessly to the wrist’s contour for an optimal level of comfort.
With its unique stirrup silhouette, supple chain-link bracelet set with 84 stones (~0.72 Ct) and refined dial, this timepiece captures the essence of Ralph Lauren’s approach to designing women’s watches: “A watch for a woman is a piece of jewelry; it’s an heirloom,” says Mr. Lauren.
The white lacquered and polished dial is complemented by classic black Roman numerals, minute markers and sword-shaped hands—all encompassed by a beautifully curved sapphire crystal.
The watches in this collection are powered by either a Swiss manufactured quartz movement in the mini, petite, and small models, or a Swiss manufactured mechanical self- winding movement in the medium and large models. Each movement is hand-finished with vertical Côtes de Genève stripes and circular graining, known as Perlage. A Ralph Lauren timepiece is crafted to the highest standards of Swiss precision.
ArtyA’s ‘Curvy Purity Tourbillon NanoSaphir Emerald’
Unveiled just a few weeks ago, ArtyA’s latest timepiece uses cutting edge material - tinted ‘NanoSaphir’ to create a pure, totally transparent case aesthetic. The gracefully curved angles offer a dual vantage point for admiring the large 17.2-millimeter 4 Hz tourbillon that appears to levitate at the center.
The emerald green, symbolizing joy, optimism, bravery and courage, reflects the creative energy of Dubai of where it was unveiled. A nod also to the flag of the UAE, unifying the seven emirates.
The Curvy Purity Tourbillon has been entirely redesigned and is an all-new Manufacture movement. Distinguished by its striking axial symmetry and a crown at 12 o’clock, the Curvy Purity Tourbillon movement represents the apex of technical and aesthetic innovation for the Purity collection. The tourbillon, grand in scale at 17.2 mm, takes flight at the 6 o’clock position, offering an optimal view of its rotation. Its parallel-mounted double barrel delivers a substantial 72-hour power reserve.
Culminating several years of development, the Curvy movement is the newest member of the Purity Tourbillon family of Manufacture created exclusively for ArtyA.
Charles Zuber’s Perfos ‘Fohn’ 39
A hallmark from the Swiss watchmaker, Charles Zuber, the Perfos requires no introduction. This latest, 50-piece limited edition, comes in new tones and colors. With its bold and alluring brown dial, this 39mm work of art truly testifies to the artistry and technical expertise of its creators.
Featuring a leather strap, this piece is elegantly crafted to enhance its refined appearance. The unique genta style ultra-complex dial shape is a feat of engineering and design. With 60 reflective contrasting indexes, the brown dial of the Perfos watch is the perfect expression of neo-Swiss luxury, offering an unrivaled combination of timeless elegance and modern sophistication.
Arnold & Son’s Time Pyramid
Arnold & Son continues to reflect on its most iconic and classic collections. Time Pyramid, with its unique appearance and structure, has been elegantly revisited. With a fully redesigned case in a new diameter of 42.5mm, a blue aventurine glass case back and a white opal minutes circle, the Time Pyramid collection is also brought to life through various premium materials. Red gold and platinum offer precious alternatives, with each color duplicated on the rim of the hours and minutes dial.
The movement driving Time Pyramid is displayed for all to see. The case’s wide opening and slender bezel showcase the movement’s mechanical arrangement, while the screw balance sits majestically at 12 o’clock. The gear train highlights an array of finishes that include hand chamfering, satin-finished and sunray-brushed wheels, snailed barrels and blued screws. The calibre’s structure then splits in two beneath a ring in white opal–the signature stone of Arnold & Son’s off-centred dials.
The expression ‘open-air’ applies literally here, as the glass used for the case-back offers yet another new interpretation by Arnold & Son. Neither transparent nor opaque, it is composed of an extremely thin disc of aventurine glass in what constitutes a first for this iconic material. With its contrasts, its play on transparency and sense of depth and symmetry, Time Pyramid pushes the limits of watchmaking to assert its distinction.
