Winter is finally giving way to spring this February. To usher the new season, the world’s top fashion houses are releasing their latest collections and accessories to spring into sunnier days in style (pun intended).
Bright colours and softer silhouettes appear to be in this season, in favour of a more exuberant and youthful spirit. There are totes, crossbody bags, satchels and hobo designs making their debut, so suffice to say, bag addicts will be spoiled for choice. Check out our top new picks of the month for your spring wardrobe.
Versace La Medusa
The mythical Greek icon Medusa has been a recognisable muse of Versace for years. As the legend goes, she was once perceived as the most beautiful person in Athens before she was cursed, becoming a fierce character of unapologetic attitude who wards off negativity. Referencing her fearlessness, the new La Medusa accessories collection features a selection of leather handbags accented by the statement Medusa head plaque on the front. The collection includes small, medium and large top handle bags and crossbody bags, all of which are made in Italy using premium soft leather for a slouchy, semi-structured finish. It’s available in a variety of vibrant colours including Donatella Versace’s favourite DV Blue, or classic black.
Louis Vuitton Coussin and Rendezvous
This month alone, Louis Vuitton is launching not one but two new bags for the Spring-Summer 2021 season. The Coussin is a voluminous yet lightweight bag that’s made of soft, supple puffy lambskin leather and comes with a new Edge aluminium chain and textile strap. This gives it versatility to be worn crossbody, as a chain baguette or comfortably under the arm. It’s offered in black, red, cream, silver and green LV motion for the PM size, and in black and khaki for the MM size.
Meanwhile, the Rendezvous features a boxier design that recalls the trunkmaker’s heritage. Crafted from either calfskin leather or crocodile leather, the medium-sized bag is highlighted by a lock inspired from archive padlocks and nautical chains, complete with the Edge chain and sleek Monogram engraving. It comes in three staple shades: black, tomette, camel and in a black Monogram metal version. Both bags will be available on February 19 in selected stores before the official launch worldwide on February 26.
Giorgio Armani La Prima

Three new daytime designs join Giorgio Armani’s signature La Prima family for SS21, each unique in design yet true to the pure lines and quality craftmanship synonymous with the original. The first is an under-the-shoulder model that’s defined by a personalised loop on the side. A second hobo variant with a characteristic half-moon shape presents an elegant and casual option. Rounding off the additions is a two-handled tote, which comes in a vertical version with a detachable shoulder strap, and a large business tote design with a zip featuring sliders that can be secured with the classic charm padlock. The bags are available in fresh colourways including avio blue, azalea and pink.
Celine White Triomphe Canvas
It’s not a new bag per se, but a new canvas that earns the spotlight at Celine. Hedi Slimane’s emblematic triomphe canvas line is revisited for spring in a new white-coloured base with an ocre triomphe motif. Like the original classic tan option, the fresh canvas has a shadow effect that embodies a vintage charm while offering a light, joyful spirit that’s perfect for the sunnier seasons. The new canvas forms the base of multiple styles including the Ava and Tambour, as well as new silhouettes, namely the Patapan and oversized Cabas bags.
Fendi Moonlight Satchel Bag
While we can talk about a reiteration of the iconic Peekaboo every season, Fendi’s new Moonlight bag deserves attention in its own right. Featuring a compact satchel design that references the Maison’s Sunshine Shopper, it boasts a modern, youthful design that’s accented by rigid tortoiseshell-effect details on the sides and a gold-toned FF logo guilloche metal buckle adorning the front flap. You’ll also find the Fendi Roma motif heat-pressed under the flap. Accompanying the accessory is an adjustable leather shoulder strap made of the same calfskin leather as the bag’s body. It comes in a range of spring-inspired shades including orange, grey, green, yellow, brown, white and black.
