Just like a giant, dynamic, and all-encapsulating global billboard of sorts, the Formula One automotive racing franchise has grown from just another sporting event into an arena where engineering excellence, national pride, cutting-edge technology and materials, as well as global brand narratives meet. And since that very first race at the iconic Silverstone Circuit back in 1950, few industries have embraced the sport quite like Swiss watchmaking,with every watchmaker competing to be seen on the world’s fastest wrists.
After all, with its millisecond-level demands and ever-increasing global fanbase, F1 simply provides the ideal stage for any luxury watchmaker to express their identity. So, it’s hardly surprising that now in 2025, the interplay between horology and motorsport has reached a new high. Here, we take a look at a selection of exclusive new luxury timepieces showcased by brands that have a strong partnership with the current bevy of championship-chasing F1 teams.
Girard-Perregaux Laureato Absolute Aston Martin F1 Edition
On the wrist, the lightweight yet resilient Laureato Absolute case looks sleek and sporty with its matte sandblasted finish. Meanwhile, its octagonal screw-down crown with a green ring ensures the impressive 300m water-resistance of the case. Aston Martin’s Racing Green colour is used for the dial, and the hands are inspired by the front grille found on Aston Martin DB12 grand tourer. And just like on the make’s F1 car, there are lime green accents on the tip of the hour and minute hands, along the length of the central seconds hand, the date window frame and the depth rating of 300m.
Hidden beneath the screwed caseback – engraved with Aston Martin’s winged logo – is the automatic GP03300 movement with a 46-hour power reserve. Finally, a green FKM rubber strap with a fabric effect and a titanium folding clasp with micro-adjustment highlight the sporty character of this luxury timepiece.
H. Moser & Cie Streamliner Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition
Fiercely independent watchmaker H. Moser & Cie is certainly renowned for its minimalist dials and conceptual watchmaking. But now, it has perhaps gone in a slightly different direction with the brand’s Alpine Motorsports F1 Racing Team partnership.
Inside the 42.3mm stainless steel case of the brand’s freshly released Streamliner Cylindrical Tourbillon Skeleton Alpine Limited Edition is the HMC 811 calibre featuring a cylindrical hairspring tourbillon – a nod to the traditional marine chronometers. With a power reserve of 74 hours and sapphire dial bridges, the timepiece merges form and function with mechanical transparency. Needless to say, this is a very technical watch, combining architectural openness with tourbillon prestige.
IWC Mark XX Mercedes-AMG Petronas Edition
The new Mark XX displays an appealing twist on the traditional pilot’s watch, furnished in black and white with its matte grey case crafted from lightweight and very robust titanium. The watch also features a black dial with exquisite detailing in Petronas green and a rubber strap in the same colour. The solid case back is engraved with a motif of repeating hexagons, modelled on a similar pattern found on the current stable of Mercedes-AMG performance cars.
Powering the watch is the cal. 32111, IWC’s entry level in-house movement, also incidentally the same movement found in the pricier Ingenieur timepiece. The watch also offers a power reserve of 120 hours, while operating at 28,800 beats per hour (4 Hz).
Richard Mille RM 43-01 Tourbillon Split-Seconds Chronograph Ferrari
Making its grand debut on the wrist of Scuderia Ferrari HP driver Lewis Hamilton at the Chinese GP just in March this year, the RM 43-01 Chronograph Ferrari comes in both a polished Grade 5 Titanium and Carbon TPT case design. Ferrari’s own Centro Stile design division played a crucial role in engineering the new watch collection with various elements that pay homage to the supercars that hail from Maranello.
With a skeletonised dial that highlights the inner workings of Richard Mille’s renowned complication, Ferrari’s iconic prancing horse logo is proudly displayed on the lower left corner of each watch. Under the hood lies an RM43-01 movement that took over three years to engineer, with a structure built to withstand the intense g-forces of a racecar on the move while providing an efficient 70-hour power reserve.
TAG Heuer Formula 1 Oracle Red Bull Racing Edition
TAG Heuer’s partnership with Oracle Red Bull racing runs all the way back to 2017, and there have been seven watches commemorating their alliance. Last year, to celebrate the team’s 20th anniversary, a new Formula 1 Chronograph joins the watch brand’s collection, using the familiar 43mm Formula 1 Chronograph case. Here, the steel case and bezel are coated with black DLC.
The watch includes a blue aluminum tachymeter bezel insert and a 200m water resistance rating. Decked out in the racing team’s colours, its grainy dark blue dial works with large, printed Super-LumiNova numerals and the “Red Bull” text along the left side. Then, a yellow central chronograph hand and hour markers add contrast.
Tudor Black Bay Ceramic Blue
Tudor’s partnership with the Visa Cash App Racing Bulls Formula One Team aligns a young, aggressive team with a luxury watch brand that thrives on performance and reliability. The Black Bay Ceramic Blue actually debuted in 2024 as a team-exclusive, and was later released to the public during the British Grand Prix at Silverstone in July that year.
The watch’s 41mm matte black ceramic case, blue dial, and hybrid leather–rubber strap gives it a contemporary aesthetic rooted in tool-watch functionality. It’s a launch that balances F1 glamour with everyday wearability. Certified by the Swiss Federal Institute of Metrology (METAS), its MT5602-1U movement ensures absolute accuracy, magnetic resistance up to 15,000 Gauss, and is tested to withstand extreme temperatures.
