With another season of men’s runway shows descending upon the fashion metropoleis of Milan and Paris, the world was graced with a raft of spectacular attires and beauty looks. Blending common themes of practicality and tailoring, these directional fashion displays pivot on beauty and hair statements to cement their positions. While the designers and their crafted gems conquer the much-coveted limelight, hair and makeup artists complete looks with their unrivalled flair in cosmetics and grooming.
Interestingly, the most arresting beauty trends were often at odds with one another: some instances, models with artful looks strutted down the runways and on other instances, models donned sophisticated appearances. The Men’s Fashion Week shows witnessed a fascinating interplay between the bold and the subdued.

Sinister, Prometheus at Rick Owens
Channeling a distinct spectral beauty, models that presented Rick Owen’s Porterville collection donned two-tone face paint atop their faces and blackout lenses. These eerie yet captivating looks depicted the darker undertone of the collection – a reflection of our current times. Models who walked this collection appeared as if they had travelled from some distant reality, far beyond our reach.
Fresh and glossy at Dolce & Gabbana
Luminous skin is the new paradigm for class. With a collection entitled Sleek, the fashion house had their models looking their suavest selves with youthful and plump skin. Looking all prim and proper, the Dolce & Gabbana men masterfully captured attention.
Clipped bangs at Gucci
Curtain fringes have enjoyed their share of time – it’s now the era of clipped bangs. Piecey and cut straight, the fringes of Gucci’s models were the epitome of perfectly short and sweet. The hairstyle is simple and looks good, making it a worthy trendsetter in the men grooming scene.
Glazed in copper at Feng Cheng Wang
Think, statues carved in steampunk fashion. Copper foil makeup was the indomitable star of designer Feng Cheng Wang’s newest line, in collaboration with the makeup virtuoso Naima Bremer. A seamless fusion of dramatic beauty amidst a weathered facade, the copper-glazed look was a dazzling complement to the functional collection.
Hair hurricane at Solid Homme

Flaunting windswept hair styled into stiff, models for Solid Homme had their hair styled akin to an illustration of a blizzard. Courtesy of stylist Gary Hill, the unique coiffures were paired with rosy cheeks in designer Woo Young Mi’s modish winter-ready collection. Dustings of snow on the models’ eyelashes served as a mint finishing touch.
Punky metallic at Kidill

The essence of Kidill’s WHATEVER HAPPENED TO PUNK collection was fully captured through the ombre-metallic makeup looks. Vibrant hues seasoned the models’ features, instilling a rebellious aura in them as they paraded the runway.
