Sime Darby Auto Performances brings together the high performance of a sports car with the driving comfort of an exclusive saloon with the launch of the new Porsche Panamera. Featuring new improvements for enhanced driving comfort and cornering stability, the Panamera first made its Malaysian debut late April via a digital premiere.
The combination of travelling in comfort while retaining the dynamics and feel of a sports car is something that comes naturally to the Panamera. Equipped with the familiar 2.9-litre V6 bi-turbo engine, the new Panamera generates an output of 243 kW and a maximum torque of 450 Nm, achieving the century sprint in 5.4 seconds and top speed of 270 km/h. In addition, the coasting function of the eight-speed PDK which is activated in normal driving mode – and already part of predecessor models – have also been improved to further enhance driving comfort and efficiency.
For the first time, Porsche Connect will also be made available in the new Panamera in Malaysia. Featuring an extensive offering of services as well as the online connection, Porsche Connect allows the new Panamera to underline its unique position in this vehicle segment.
High performance for maximum comfort
To hit the sweet spot between sport and comfort, the new Panamera also features a redesigned chassis system, a new generation of tyres, as well as an even more precisely adjusted steering wheel. This ensures improved lateral dynamics and greater precision to make the driving experience as comfortable as possible, even when turning corners.
In addition, the new Panamera also comes equipped with six-piston aluminium monobloc fixed brake calipers at the front, four-piston aluminium monobloc foxed brake calipers at the rear, and single-piece brake calipers enclosed – making the brake system in this model lighter yet highly resistant to deformation.
As for the comfort of safety, the car offers an extensive range of innovative light and assistance systems. This includes the now-standard Lane Keeping Assist with road sign recognition as well as Night Vision Assist, Lane Change Assist, LED matrix headlights including PDLS Plus, Park Assist including Surround View and head-up display.
A new tyre generation
For a lower rolling resistance and improved lateral performance, the new Panamera is fitted with new 20 and 21-inch tyres. Sport tyres with a softer rubber compound and optimised tread have been developed especially for the Panamera and are offered for the first time.
Three new 20 and 21-inch wheels have also been added to the wheel range, so that drivers can choose between a total of 10 different designs – including the Exclusive Design 21-inch alloy wheels.
Looking sharp
To complete the unique identity of the Panamera, this new model features the previously optional Sport Design front end with striking air intake grilles, larger side air intakes with adapted single-bat front light layout. The revamped light strip at the rear now runs seamlessly over the luggage compartment lid with an adapted contour. This provides a continuous and flowing connection between the two newly-designed LED tail light clusters.
Inside the new Panamera also boasts the timeless, sporty look. It features high-grade materials, and modern infotainment and connectivity services that are harmoniously integrated. New multifunctional steering wheels are now used, with their operating elements integrated into the design. Their visual cut-outs evoke the lightweight steering wheels found in racing cars.
Prices for the new Panamera starts from RM1,026,735 with SST exemption. More information can be found online here, and if you’re looking to book a test drive or schedule a viewing appointment, you may contact the Porsche Centres at Ara Damansara, Sungai Besi, Penang, and Johor Bahru.
