For those looking to explore Da Nang whilst enjoying the comfort and conveniences of a resort stay, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort presents itself as your idyllic escape.
In recent years, Vietnam’s coastal city of Danang has steadily risen on the radar of Southeast Asian travel destinations thanks to its diverse landscapes and fast-developing city life.
Located in the central region of the country, in between its largest cities of Ho Chi Minh and Hanoi, Da Nang boasts an eclectic mix of urban architecture, mountainous backdrops and seaside views to appeal to every kind of traveller.
For those looking to explore them all whilst enjoying the comfort and conveniences of a resort stay, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort presents itself as your idyllic escape. Having spent two nights in the sprawling resort, here’s what to expect should you be considering a visit.
Rooms with views for days
Nestled in the slower-paced Ngu Hanh Son district to the south of the city hub, Sheraton Grand Danang Resort will immediately win hearts of beach-loving patrons with its own private shore. Why bother with the beach crowd in Da Nang city when you can laze in the silky soft, white sand Non Nuoc beach minutes away from your hotel room? (This is especially a plus point if you want to catch unparalleled sunrise views without losing that additional 20 minutes of sleep in the morning).
Better yet, bask in views of the coastline or pool – the longest infinity pool in Da Nang at 250 metres – directly from one of the 228 rooms and 30 suites in the property.

True to the ‘Grand’ in the hotel’s name, the interior of the rooms echoes the imposing aesthetic of the rest of the resort. Our 506-square feet King Deluxe Pool View room expresses this with regal abstract-print wallpaper, contemporary yet timeless furnishings and a spacious marble bathroom.
Soundproof floor-to-ceiling windows, a 55-inch flat screen TV, complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi and ample USB ports further highlight the modernity in its design; whilst the plush king bed offers the signature Sheraton Sleep Experience that ensures a good night’s rest for the next day of exploration.

Dining options for all occasions
With six restaurants and bars spread across the resort, guests are spoilt for choice in the dining sphere. Breakfast (optional add-on with every night’s stay) and all-day meals can be had at Table 88, which serves a bountiful buffet spread of local and continental cuisine. Don’t miss the coffee cart here, offering a selection of the popular thick, distinctively roasted Vietnamese coffee.
La Plage is our personal favourite dining spot for its laid-back charm topped with an airy sea breeze and stunning vistas of the beach and poolside. The restaurant and beach club specialises in Asian cuisine, which we suggest you enjoy with a variety of craft beers or original cocktails on the menu.
Those looking for a quick fix whilst relaxing on the pool deck can order from Poolside, featuring a menu of appetisers, tapas, salads and pasta. On the other hand, the Tea Lounge welcomes those considering a delectable high tea in a classy ambience. There’s also an assortment of world-class teas and freshly brewed coffee at this elegant lounge, if you’re in town for business.
Then, there’s The Grill, the resort’s signature restaurant that is famous for its fresh seafood and succulent steaks. Open only for dinner, this stylish eatery boasts its own bar, indoor and outdoor dining areas, as well as a private room where you can savour shared plates, course meals and fun cocktails with your better half or a group of friends.
Jazz and whisky enthusiasts can indulge further at the Mix Bar, an opulent lounge with an extensive selection of premium spirits, including 60 different types of whisky. And if all the above aren’t enough, you can customise your own romantic dinner on the beach or hold special events with The Retreat package.
Resort facilities for all ages
While there’s plenty to do nearby the resort – from making an excursion to the neighbouring heritage port town of Hoi An to exploring the popular amusement park at Ba Na Hills – the resort offers several facilities and recreational activities of its own. It doesn’t matter if you’re five or fifty, there’s something designed to tickle your fancy.
One main highlight for the whole family is the alluring infinity pool that stretches out to the beachfront. Meanwhile, younger children can have a splash at the separate kid’s outdoor pool or join other play mates at the fun-filled kid’s club.
Fitness junkies can clock in time at the well-equipped gym, whilst sports buffs can enjoy a round of volleyball or golf. Alternatively, there are water sports equipment available for rent to try your hand at boating, sailing, surfing or kayaking. After sweating it out, pamper yourself to a wide range of soothing treatments including facials, massages and foot baths at the Shine Spa for Sheraton™.
With so much to see, eat and do at Sheraton Grand Danang Resort, one can easily spend a few days here without leaving the property. But if you do head out, you can always look forward to a nightcap back at the hotel – and a stellar view to top it off.
