From the powerhouse Samsung Galaxy Note 20 to the next-gen Galaxy Fold 2, here’s a quick look at the 5 latest launches from Samsung Galaxy Unpacked 2020.
The Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event has been an annual affair highly anticipated by tech geeks, brand supporters and members of the media alike. Due to the circumstances this year, however, the Korean tech behemoth hosted its first ever virtual take on the event, livestreamed directly from Korea.
“Never before have we relied on technology like we are today. It’s how we are staying connected as we navigate the extraordinary challenges faced around the world,” said Dr. TM Roh, President and Head of Mobile Communications Business, Samsung Electronics. “Technology must make life easier, not more complex. That’s why we have introduced five new power devices. Alone, these devices are powerful tools to help you maximize work and play. Together, as part of the Galaxy ecosystem, they work together seamlessly so you can spend your time focused on what matters most.”
In case you missed the livestream, you can still watch it here – or simply scroll on for a quick lowdown on the 5 latest launches from the brand.
The performance powerhouse: Samsung Galaxy Note 20
Launching in two variants like its predecessor, the Galaxy Note 20 series promises true power and productivity in a phone with features such as a Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor (Samsung’s fastest to date), higher resolution display (making mobile gaming), triple rear lenses (including an 8K camera) and advanced S Pen. The larger, more impressive Galaxy Note 20 Ultra also comes with a 108MP main camera and 100x zoom feature for unprecedented mobile photography, on top of bigger storage to keep all the media files you’ll be taking. Both come in a range of new ‘Mystic’ colours including Mystic Bronze – yes, the trendy rose gold shade the brand got us all excited about in its Unpacked teaser.
The versatile tablet: Galaxy Tab 7
Although flagship smartphones and a new category of gadgets like the Galaxy Fold (more on this later) have diminished the attention on tablets, Samsung isn’t launching just any tablet. Debuting as the rival to Apple’s iPad Pro, the Galaxy Tab S7 and S7+ are designed with the power of a PC, flexibility of a tablet and connectivity of a smartphone for ultimate versatility. It features a powerful processor and immersive display with a 120 Hz refresh rate that enables smooth multi-tasking, including cloud-based gaming and high-definition streaming with its 5G technology.
The ergonomic earbuds: Galaxy Buds Live
Audiophiles aren’t forgotten with the launch of the Galaxy Buds Live, offering a true wireless experience that fits ergonomically to move with your lifestyle. Shaped like a bean, the uniquely designed earbuds combines AKG’s audio expertise, a 12mm speaker and a bass duct to offer rich sounds that stay true to its intended form. They also come with Active Noise Cancellation, three microphones and a Voice Pickup Unit to immerse yourself in every tune, conversation and audio experience.

The stylish smartwatch: Galaxy Watch3
Then there’s the Galaxy Watch3 for the smartwatch buffs out there, boasting a slew of advanced functions including Samsung’s most expansive health suite yet. Among the coolest upgrades are Blood oxygen feature to track oxygen saturation over time, Running Analysis to help athletes track and improve form, increased 50-metre water resistance as well as a new Samsung Health Monitor app. It’s also 14 percent thinner and 15 percent lighter than the original Galaxy Watch, complementing function with stylish sensibilities.
The next-gen foldable: Galaxy Z Fold 2
Finally, the Galaxy Z Fold 2 makes its debut (alongside BTS, albeit only briefly in the livestream) as the successor to the category pioneer, Galaxy Fold. This next-gen foldable takes the highlights of the original and refines them into two edge-to-edge, nearly bezel-less Infinity-O Displays that are thinner and more flexible than before. The Cover Screen comes at 6.2-inches whereas the Main Screen unfolds to 7.6-inches – both larger than the original for an enhanced visual experience.
The Galaxy Note20 series and Watch3 will be available for pre-orders in Malaysia starting 10am, 6th August till 20th August 2020 (or while stocks last). Customers who pre-order the devices during this period will also receive attractive gifts.
