Comprising of two ranges, the collaboration is inspired by the singer’s Barbadian roots and its famous carnival, the Crop Over Festival.
Rihanna’s Puma x Fenty sportswear collection gave us the perfect balance between contemporary activewear and up-to-the-minute creepers and slides, while her Rihanna x Manolo Blahnik shoe collection offered sexiness meets sophistication with timeless stilettos to denim thigh-high boots we’d rob a bank for. Now, Swiss luxury watch and jewellery brand Chopard is tapping into the Barbadian singer and songwriter’s star power for a limited edition collection of jewellery – “Rihanna Loves Chopard”.
Comprising of two ranges – the Joaillerie and Haute Joaillerie collections – the collaboration is inspired by the singer’s roots and its famous carnival, the Crop Over Festival, a colourful spectacular of dance, music and parade to celebrate the end of the local sugar cane harvest season.
The Joaillerie collection sees pieces crafted from 18-carat Fairmined gold in minimal, modern and geometrical styles. They feature a precious green ceramic in a Jungle Green shade personally selected by Rihanna, incorporated to Chopard’s signature Ice Cube shapes. Each piece also is engraved with the letterings ‘R♡C’ exclusive to the collection.
From the Haute Joaillerie collection, we are spoiled with two sets of chandelier earrings, one in white gold and the other stealing breaths with colourful gemstones set in a cascading tropical waterfall of flowers and butterflies.
There’s no doubt Badgal RiRi was already shining bright like a diamond, but with this capsule jewellery collection set to launch at the Cannes Film Festival in May, she will be raking in all the stares. W chopard.com
