Expect to see a loaded dose (no pun intended) of Chanels, Chopards and Mercedes-Benzes as you scroll on below.
With 8.5 million followers on Instagram and counting, Araya Alberta Hargate is no low-key celebrity. In fact, she’s the second most followed Thai actress on the platform – for more reasons than one.
But before we dive into the intricacies of her feed, here are a few things to know about Araya, or more fondly known as ‘Chompoo’ (meaning pink in Thai), to bring you up to speed.
The 38-year-old Thai-British actress, model and TV personality has over 20 years of experience in the Thai film and entertainment industry. She started acting in a Lakorn (Thai soap opera) at the age of 17 after winning a local beauty pageant, the Miss Motor Show Contest. Since then, she has dabbled in fashion and modelling, giving rise to her titles of high-fashion queen and the “Fan Bing Bing of Thailand”.
Henceforth, expect to see a loaded dose (no pun intended) of Chanels, Chopards and Mercedes-Benzes as you scroll on below.
At first glance, her Instagram feed (@chomismaterialgirl) resembles that of a fashion influencer. We refer, of course, to the stream of designer clothing we want in our wardrobes, like this Chanel ensemble:
Or this other Chanel outfit she wore to Virginie Viard’s debut presentation for the house. (She’s clearly a fan of the Parisian Maison).
And everything from this Dior look, which she sported at the brand’s Spring/Summer 2019 fashion show.
But what really turns heads and sparks conversations is her red-carpet wardrobe. Speaking of red carpet, she unabashedly stole the thunder at the premiere of the Cannes Film Festival recently in a magnificent Ralph & Russo Fall 2017 Couture gown and a dazzling Chopard diamond jewellery suite.
That’s 67.07-carats of diamonds set in 18k white Fairmined gold from Chopard’s Haute Joaillerie Collection, by the way.
She continued to shine in Chopard jewellery for day 2 of the festival, this time in a pale blue Versace gown.
As it turns out, she’s a loyal fan of the Swiss luxury jeweller and is often spotted wearing the brand’s haute jewellery pieces to special events. She is also an ambassador for L’Oreal and Adidas.
Fashion aside, Araya made headlines in 2015 when she married Witsarut “Nott” Rungsisingpipat, her boyfriend of six years and the heir to his father’s Racer Lighting company fortune.
The engagement ceremony saw the groom presenting his bride-to-be with a dowry of assorted jewellery, a property title deed, gold and cash with an estimated total value of 108 million baht (approximately RM14.2 million). It also involved the traditional procession of the groom’s parents with 15 Mercedes S300 luxury cars.
Today, the couple are proud parents to twin boys who seem to share her sense of style…
