The new automobile drives farther and charges even faster than its predecessor. According to the specs, there has been a significant rise in charge rate, from 270 kW to 320 kW, which is estimated to give a maximum 35 percent increase in range.
The Taycan’s maximum WLTP range on a single charge is currently 600 km/s. Porsche claims that all variations can charge from 10 to 80 percent in just 18 minutes, which is about half as long as it took for the previous model. Even more impressive, the Turbo S is able to reach a top speed of 100 km/h in just 2.4 seconds.
There’s no denying that Porsche’s stated maximum charge speeds are significant, and maybe this provides a tantalizing peek at what more reasonably priced EVs will be able to achieve in the not-too-distant future.
Exterior
A few subtle styling adjustments are included with the Taycan S. The headlamps on the front end have been replaced, and the overall appearance is now a touch more angular. In an effort to differentiate the Turbo and Turbo S models from the rest of the Taycan lineup, Porsche has also modified the appearance of these models. Additionally, they now have emblems composed of “Turbonite,” which resembles a mixture of silver and aluminum.
Interiors
Although the inside is largely unchanged, it now has heated seats and new icons for regulating the cabin temperature of the car thanks to the latest iteration of Apple CarPlay. There is now an option for a second infotainment display as well. Similar to other new Porsche vehicles, it is positioned directly in front of the passenger in the front seat and has a film covering it that limits its viewing angles. As a result, the fron-seat passenger can stream movies without disrupting the driver.
Engine
A push-to-pass button on the steering wheel is another new feature inside. When pressed, this driving mode provides a power surge of up to 70 kW for a maximum of 10 seconds. Drivers must stop and activate launch control in order to unlock the maximum thrust of 140 kW. The Taycan Turbo S can produce a total of 700 kW in this state, which is equivalent to 939 horsepower.
Porsche claims that in addition to raising the maximum charge speed, the new Taycan sustains a greater charge rate for an extended period of time. Porsche claims that even in cold weather, the Taycan can maintain a charge rate of more than 300 kW for up to five minutes. To do this, find a charger that is powerful enough—ideally one that can handle 350 kW. For the bigger Performance Battery Plus, the battery capacity has been increased somewhat, from 93 kWh to 105 kWh.
Last but not least, Porsche upgraded the Taycan’s air suspension system. The Taycan is said to remain level even when braking, cornering, and strong acceleration thanks to a feature known as Porsche Active Ride. To facilitate access and leave, the system also has a clever feature that causes the automobile to raise slightly when a door is opened.
