It was in 2019 that MB&F’s first-ever Machine dedicated to women, the Legacy Machine FlyingT, made its debut in the horological world, earning the prize for Best Ladies’ Complication at the 2019 Grand Prix d’Horlogerie de Genève.
In addition to impressing with diamond-set versions in white gold, guilloché dial editions in red gold and platinum, and the ‘FlyingT Allegra’ collaboration with Bulgari, the timepiece has also seen gemstone editions of Lapis Lazuli in 2020 and Malachite in 2021.
Carrying on the tradition this year, the watchmaker has unveiled the LM FlyingT Tiger Eye, which features a golden brown gemstone dial plate and subdial, within a 18k yellow gold case set with diamonds.
The Tiger Eye, with its hypnotic undulating patterns in shades of gold and brown, is a gemstone that has historically been believed to offer protection, whether that be from the evil eye or the perils of battle. Matched with a yellow gold case and hands, the luminescent quartz of the dial and plate provide a sense of visual harmony to the new FlyingT.
Emerging vertically from the dial plate, the FlyingT automatic movement is crowned with a 60-second flying tourbillon and boasts a power reserve of 100 hours. Perched above the upper tourbillon cage is a shimmering diamond, while at 7 o’clock, a pair of serpentine hands indicate the hours and minutes on a tilted subdial that’s visible only to the wearer.
This intimate, personal characteristic, combined with the vibrant, dynamic gemstone dial, once again expresses the elegance and vitality of femininity and womanhood – a key inspiration of the LM FlyingT. Additionally, 168 diamonds adorn the case, crowns, buckle and tourbillon cage, further enhancing the opulent intensity of the piece.
