If you’re looking for a confidence booster and fresh statement of your style, here’s a selection of new fragrances to try out right now.
As with clothing, scents can speak volumes about a man’s style and personality. Wear a refreshing trail of citrus and you’ll exude a crisp energy; wear a woody fragrance and you’ll evoke a man confident in his masculinity.
But that doesn’t mean you should stick to a scent that best defines you. After all, there are different facets to your personality just as there are different facets of life. And that’s why brands keep producing new colognes and perfumes to reveal idiosyncratic expressions of the modern gentleman.
If you’re looking for a confidence booster and fresh statement of your style, here’s a selection of new fragrances to try out right now.
Bleu de Chanel Parfum
Embodying the spirit of a man refused to be bound by rules, the new Bleu de Chanel expresses an aromatic, woody trail accentuating masculine freedom. Its sophisticated composition opens with a powerful freshness before leaving a lingering tail of New Caledonian sandalwood. Housed in a deep blue bottle that’s almost black, this fragrance oozes confidence with a solid dose of mystery. W chanel.com
David Beckham Fragrances
David Beckham Fragrances has just landed in Malaysia, offering a range of perfumes, deodorants and body sprays created by Coty International in collaboration with the football icon himself. Four main fragrances make up the collection: Instinct (fresh, citrusy), Homme (woody, spicy), Respect (woody, fruity) and Classic (fresh, woody). All four EDTs are now available at your nearest departmental stores. W beckham-fragrances.com
Pacollection by Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne’s new Pacollection of fragrances is radical both in its design and composition. The packaging has soft yet sturdy feel which the brand claims to be unbreakable, and comes in vibrant colours that signal pop art. There are six different scents – Crazy Me, Genius Me, Fabulous Me, Dangerous Me, Erotic Me and Strong Me, each with an innovative combination of notes including mimosa, pumpkin and rum. In describing the fragrances, creative director Julien Dossena says, “Nothing is too natural, it’s a bit pushed – as if all the notes were a bit artificial or chemical in that sense, which I found super modern.” W pacorabanne.com
Diptyque Eau de Minthé
It’s not hard to guess the key scent of Diptyque’s latest fragrance based on its name: mint. Refreshingly aromatic and spicy, the eau de parfum draws inspiration from the Greek mythology of a water nymph who transformed into mint. It features base notes of patchouli, heart notes of rose and geranium, and top notes of mint and nutmeg. W spacenk.com
Guerlain L’Homme Ideal Cool
Masculine, refined and elegant are three words we’d use to describe the flacon of the latest addition to Guerlain’s L’Homme fragrance family. With its guilloche detail cap and clean green design, it’s no doubt a cool bottle – true to its name – to display at home. Its woody fragrance bursts with the top notes of bergamot and orange and heart notes of neroli before settling into patchouli and vetiver at the base. Available at selected departmental stores.
