Mariah Carey collaborates with Chopard on a special two-collection line, bringing forth the energy of the R&B star in partnership with Caroline Scheufele, artistic director of Chopard.
The butterfly captures Carey’s charisma with pieces inspired by her career-defining album Butterfly, which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year.
The first line, Chopard X Mariah Carey, features a depiction of the butterfly that is entirely paved in diamonds. Thanks to the expertise of the Maison’s workshops, the Fairmined-certified ethical 18-carat white gold butterfly’s sensuous wings are emphasised by the brilliant light of the diamonds, whose size variations produce an incredibly rich paved texture. The diamond heart that surrounds their asymmetrical wings appears to give them their vibrant motion.
In addition, around the neck and as an ear pendant, beneath one of the butterfly’s wings flows a river of round-cut and heart-shaped diamonds. Meanwhile, the second collection, Happy Butterfly, features everyday pieces including cuffs, earrings, and necklaces.
