lululemon officially launches in Malaysia with two new flagship stores

Each store draws inspiration from its surrounding local architecture, reinterpreted with strokes of modernity for a premium and personal guest experience.

Athletes and yogis, rejoice! Canadian athletic label lululemon has officially launched in Kuala Lumpur with two new flagship stores in the city’s top shopping meccas, Suria KLCC and Pavilion KL.

If you’ve been keeping up with Instagram, then you might have already seen glimpses of the brand’s activations and activities with brand partners and ambassadors throughout the month of November leading up to its big announcement. Themed “Sama-sama” as an homage to the popular Malaysian phrase, these initiatives were held to celebrate the local community’s unity in diversity.

The launch events and collaborations also highlight lululemon’s vision to ignite an experiential, healthy lifestyle through its three signature pillars of ‘sweat, grow and connect’.

Now with the presence of two physical stores in the heart of KL, like-minded yogis, athletes and fitness enthusiasts can now conveniently shop the brand’s wide-ranging collection of highly functional sportswear, basics and innerwear, as well as a selection of fitness equipment.

Designed and built by Filum Group, the design language of the two lululemon stores are unique from each other. Each draws inspiration from its surrounding local architecture, reinterpreted with strokes of modernity for a premium and personal guest experience.

The KLCC store has a large façade featuring traditional Malay motifs contrasted against contemporary white marble. Its interiors are bright and fluid, with sections focusing on curated lifestyles including yoga and running.

On other hand, the Pavilion KL store – the brand’s largest in Southeast Asia – is designed to reflect lululemon’s core values of socialisation and exploration. The interiors incorporate local wood fixtures and wall coverings adorned with flora and fauna designs signalling Malaysia’s rich tropical forests.

Both stores also have appointed brand ambassadors who will be organising “community sweats” and various activities in keeping with the spirit of the brand to live a life of totality.
