Louis Vuitton has unveiled the second chapter of its new LV Volt jewellery collection by Artistic Director, Watches and Jewellery Francesca Amfitheatrof that puts the spotlight on the capital L and V letters. These iconic initials are a metaphor for movement, an allegory for momentum, an apologia for the essential and a symbol of speed. Together they form an architectural design whose main lines become a unit of measurement in a universal language, whose powerful graphic nature transcends borders and genders.
In the first chapter, the L and V are authentically showcased in their pure form. The lines cut through space, creating angles inside, in which brilliant gold and fiery diamonds play off each other. The two capital letters come together, split apart, gather, fall away, contrast, blend, stack up, interact and complete each other, bringing to life a scene of symbols exploring light, space and rhythm through their unexpected yet inextricable resources.
The rhythm picks up in the second chapter as the ranges become more intricate. L and V become chain links of myriad textures, volumes, finishes and dimensions. Then, the initials materialise one set after another, emerging as prismatic figures, presenting themselves as tubular structures. The collection comes to an end with an escape from the abstract, as the two letters turn into claws to be stacked on fingers and flow onto bandanas as embroidery in motion.
The new collection comes in five distinct styles – The LV Volt Curb Chain, LV Volt Mesh, LV Volt Multi, LV Volt One and LV Volt Upside Down.
LV Volt One
The LV Volt One offers a striking new interpretation of the iconic LV initials, featuring a large L and a smaller V inside. The design's sharp slices lend strength and modernity to the signature.
LV Volt Multi
The LV Volt Multi pays tribute to the energy of the LV initials. On this design, the L and V split apart and repeat at regular intervals, creating a smooth tempo that’s both edgy and timeless, chaotic yet organic.
LV Volt Curb Chain
LV Volt Curb Chain transforms the LV initials into the first LV-branded chain. The two letters intertwine smoothly, creating a supple chain, which is secured with an integrated clasp.
LV Volt Upside Down
The LV Volt Upside Down turns up the volume on the LV initials. This design highlights the interaction between the two letters, melded together to present a design that’s up to interpretation from the music rhythm of life to the exciting beat of the heart at the pursuit of one’s passion.
LV Volt Mesh
The LV Volt Mesh spotlights the iconic LV initials in a sequence like never before. The L and the V are stacked up into an impressive mesh, which is as supple as fabric. It follows the curve of the body upon wear, gliding on the skin and gleaming in different light from different angles.
