Hublot’s Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold has been crowned as the “Best of the Best” for product design by The Red Dot Design Awards. The awards is an international design competition orchestrated by Design Zentrum Nordrhein Westfalen in Essen, Germany, and saw 5,500 cutting-edge pieces from 54 countries presented before a jury of 54 professors, journalists and independent designers this year.

Taking home the award came naturally to the Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold with its a blend of retro and futuristic vividly displayed through its HUB1201 movement comprising 223 components completely built in-house. Other highlights include a power reserve indications and its perfectly fused 18 carat gold and ceramic making scratch proof.
“The jury awards the Red Dot: Best of the Best to outstanding design. Only design visionaries can achieve the perfect harmony between the quality of the function, seductiveness, use and responsibility,” says, Professor Dr. Peter Zec, founder and CEO Red Dot Award.
The Red Dot Award Ceremony will be held on the 3rd of July and the Big Bang Meca-10 Magic Gold is said to be exhibited later at the Red Dot Design Museum in Essen, Germany.
