Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana are the first to take this step in the direction of body positivity.

It isn’t just beauty that is getting more inclusive – high fashion is too, with Dolce & Gabbana leading the way.

The luxury fashion house has extended its size range up to UK22, a few sizes up from the top size of UK16 of all luxury fashion houses thus far.

Designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana, as controversial as they have been in recent months, are the first to take this step in the direction of body positivity.

“Dolce & Gabbana has been in love with feminine sensuality in all its forms from the beginning,” shared the brand in a statement. “Beauty is not a matter of clothing size, it is a state of mind, an attitude – that certain something that makes each woman enchanting and unique. By extending the collection’s clothing size range, Dolce & Gabbana pays tribute to women, the female form and beauty at its finest.”

The new sizes apply to its pre-fall collection, which is currently in stores.

The fashion house has long championed more inclusive sizes, as seen with its effort with casting women of all sizes on its runway shows. Monica Belluci, Ashely Graham and Tess McMillan are among those who have walked for it.

With the announcement of the new sizes, the label also vows to continue working with plus-sized models in their future advertising campaigns and shows.
