In contrast to Ricardo Tisci’s era, the new collection adds multiple hues of dark green and emerald fake fur accents, as well as new cuts such as oversized fit and blown-out collar. This idea was carried on in the looks that followed, with plaids that were far from neutral.
The British designer also experimented with a mix-palette scheme, combining regal purples with black or mustard yellow, vivid reds with classy magenta, yellows with grey, and royal blue with white. There was also a selection of accessories on exhibit including shoes and bags in a wide range of colours and sizes.
Following the success, the hashtag “Daniel Lee Burberry” has received nearly 100,000 views (and counting) across social media. It’s safe to say that the luxury brand is stepping in the right direction, with Lee leading the brand.
Lee’s debut was graced with the presence of fashion VIPs including Naomi Campbell, Anna Wintour, Georgia Jagger & Rosie Huntington-Whiteley—celebrating the homecoming of the kid from Bradford, who formerly held the top creative job at Italian label, Bottega Veneta.
