The artwork is that of a Native American portrait on the eighteen-year-old’s right forearm, similar to the one David has on his torso.
We all remember the day we turned 18 – some of us took a gap year off to travel the world, others got a car. Brooklyn Beckham decided to get inked.
Over the weekend, he took all of his 9.6 million followers on Instagram along on the journey of his first ink, done by industry maestro Mark Mahoney, who himself is a celebrity favourite, having worked his touch on names like Rihanna, Lana del Ray, Harry Styles and, of course, David Beckham.
“Honoured to have my first tattoo done by dad’s friend Mark Mahoney,” Brooklyn wrote in one caption, while dad David sat nearby updating his own Instagram stories of the process.
The artwork in question is that of a Native American portrait on the eighteen-year-old’s right forearm. If it looks familiar, that’s because David has one that’s similar on his torso.
Brooklyn has always revealed his desire to be inked; it’s no wonder given that both his parents sport a multitude of ink themselves. It is interesting to note the choice of Brooklyn’s artist – Mahoney himself is a pioneer of the black and white movement in the tattoo industry, an aesthetic Brooklyn is very fond of himself as seen through his photographs since Burberry set him on the path of photography.
We know this won’t be Brooklyn’s last tattoo so the question that begs now – what’s next?
