Time and tide wait for no man, so neither should your most trusted timepiece.
Bell & Ross is proud to unleash a new GMT model that will follow you to all ends of the world as your lifestyle will take you. Meet the new BR 05 GMT, its first dual time zone model in its 05 range.
Landing in different capitals and jumping into different timezones while keeping different temporals in mind can now be part of the every day with this new urban interpretation of travel and time. As we look forward to taking to the skies once more, here’s why the new BR 05 GMT is the ultimate globe-trotter’s tool.
Made for the man in motion
The BR 05 GMT is created with respect to its soft solidity. Its proportions are large but measured, virile yet subtle, curvy yet strong. It is robust without being abrupt, fluid and supple object, assured by the omnipresence of the brand’s DNA.
At first glance, it embodies the idea of the contemporary man. It is a watch with a strong personality dedicated to men in motion, who make the city their playground and adventure. With an engine set to two time zones, it is designed to travel and accompany the transition between different urban realities.
The first dual time zone BR 05 model
First introduced in 2019, the BR 05 quickly gained popularity as Bell & Ross’s flagship model. It extended on the collection with a chronograph model in 2020.
This year, Bell & Ross enriches the line with a new GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) function that displays the time at two different points on the globe simultaneously.
Presented in a 41mm case, it is quipped with an automatic caliber with GMT function, wound by a 360° oscillating weight. The beating heart of the new movement also reveals its movement through a sapphire glass case back.
It functions to tell hours, minutes, central seconds, second 24-hour time zone and date, all easily adjustable by a quick setting of the GMT hand, independent of the hour hand.
Optimum legibility at a glance
The dial of the BR05 offers optimum legibility with black colour face contrasting large numerals, indices and hands coated in white Super-LumiNova®, a colour scheme ingrained in Bell & Ross’ DNA.
It echoes the colours used for on-board flight instruments where cockpits are dominated by black to prevent reflections, and white for optimal reading. Intended to inform the traveler with the utmost clarity and precision, its graphics are very elaborated and the display is as rigorous as those of airport clocks. Echoing the principles of airport signaling, the skeletonised hour and minute hands are made of metal appliques.
The GMT hand blends in perfectly with the BR 05 aesthetic and stands out with its red arrow. White, black and red – symbolic colors of Bell & Ross – ensure perfect legibility both day and night.
More than a simple GMT hand, this arrow is mostly a symbol of orientation in time and space. While the white hands on the main dial indicate the time at the wearer’s current location, the red arrow-hand on the 24-hour graduated inner bezel shows the time in his country of origin.
To read time at a glance, the black semi-circle on the flange corresponds to the night-time hours, the grey semicircle to the daytime hours.
To feature this 24h-scale and add the flange, the Bell & Ross creative studio worked on increasing the diameter of the dial and therefore the dimensions of the case. With this new function, and its – 41 mm – mid-size dimensions, the BR 05 GMT makes it the ideal complement to the collection.
As borders begin to reopen and a glimmer of hope shines in the horizon for travel once more, let the BR 05 GMT take you back to dynamic reality.
