Popular fashion brand BAPE has officially entered the metaverse with the launch of its very own (B)APETAVERSE NFT.
Paving the cyber highway and creating a brand-new colony gated exclusively for BAPE (short for A Bathing Ape) fans, the (B)APETAVERSE launched in a high octave party in Resorts World Las Vegas and quickly had its 10,000 limited edition units snapped up.
Holders will be able to use the NFTs – created in realistic 3D renditions of apes called The King – as keys to exclusive BAPE content and join private and limited edition real-life events privileged only to future-forward BAPE fans.
Here’s what you need to know about the NFT party that had the world going wild.

The King of Apes take on a more life-like digitally rendered aesthetic, deviating away from the usual pixel-art style currently prevalent in the market.
It met the world in a collection of 10,000 BAPE NFTs, each uniquely and algorithmically generated for one-of-a-kind expression and attitude.
They will act as keys to access exclusive content and real-life events by BAPE, as well as exclusive drops on rare merchandise and more.
It is part of a larger industry movement towards a metaverse space, where two other sports giants are already a part of. Nike with RTFKT and Adidas with Bored Ape Yacht Club already have ties with BAPE in creating NFTs but this is BAPE’s first and largest independent NFT project.
