Building on its first ever luxury SUV, the widely acclaimed DBX, Aston Martin now unveils what it describes as the ‘pinnacle of SUV performance’ – the new DBX707.
Increased power, superior dynamics, commanding style, and uncompromising luxury characterise the newest variant, engineered to provide enhanced performance, driving pleasure and on-road presence.
Designed to be ‘a sabre in a segment of sledgehammers’, the DBX707 pierces through the SUV segment by uniting phenomenal power and pace with precision and dynamic flair for a driving experience like no other.
Power and precision
With the goal of pushing the DBX’s 4.0-litre twin-turbocharged V8 to its full potential, the iconic British car-maker developed the DBX707’s engine with ball bearing turbochargers and a bespoke engine calibration, liberating more power and torque.
Featuring a new 9-speed ‘wet clutch’ automatic transmission, the DBX707’s engine allows the 4.0-litre V8’s output to be raised 707PS and 900Nm, a significant increase of 157PS and 200Nm from the DBX (V8). Further benefits of the wet clutch transmission include: faster gear changes, a more immediate feel and control of the shift, and an improved launch capability that contributes to the vehicle’s 0-62mph time of 3.3 seconds.
A new version of the electronic limited slip rear differential (e-diff) is built with enough strength to handle the full 900Nm of torque, and offers a shorter final drive ratio for improved sprinting ability and in-gear response.
The e-diff’s careful calibration brings to the DBX707 the cornering capability, sporting feel and dynamic quality of a sports car by integrating chassis and powertrain technology for the optimum balance between traction and agility.
Other critical performance enhancement in the DBX707 is the standard fitment of Carbon Ceramic Brakes, with 420mm front and 390mm rear disks gripped by 6-piston calipers. Revisions to the braking system’s hydraulic sizing and booster tune result in improved pedal feel and braking response, making for greater precision and driver confidence.
Style for miles
For a look befitting an alpha SUV, the DBX707 makes an immediate visual impact first with a larger satin chrome front grille, a new front splitter profile, and an all-new DRL design.
Complementing the front-end treatment are the dark satin chrome window surrounds and new louvred bonnet blades, which extend along the flanks with gloss black side sills, its deeper and more sculpted profile lending the SUV a ground-hugging stance.
The DBX707’s 22 inch wheels come with the choice of Sport or Ribbon designs, while the optional 23 inch alloy wheel is offered in textured black or satin black with diamond turned highlights.
At the rear-end, a new lip spoiler is added to the roof wing for better stability, in addition to the enlarged gloss black twin rear diffuser and new satin black large diameter quad exhaust system. Rounding off the muscular design is the new rear bumper, complete with integrated quarter panel vents.
In keeping with its sporty exterior, the interior is fitted as standard with Sport seats that feature 16-way electric adjustment. Interior environment customisation options include a mix of leather and Alcantara®, or full Semi-Aniline leather with embroidered Aston Martin wings on the headrests.
With the bespoke service, Q by Aston Martin, customers have the option of customising a truly one-of-a-kind DBX707 through the extensive palette of options available, from unique graphics to tinted carbons and bespoke materials for both the interior and the exterior.
In the driver’s seat, a revised lower console allows for immediate fingertip access to drive mode selection and settings. Dedicated buttons for suspension mode, ESP, manual gear selection mode, and active exhaust switch puts the driver in control of the DBX707.
Production of the Aston Martin DBX707 is set to commence in Q1 of 2022, with first deliveries scheduled to start in early Q2 2022.
