Held at the home of Apple in Cupertino, California, the launch event spans the new iPhone 16 lineup, Apple Watch Series 10, Apple Watch Ultra 2, and the latest AirPods 4. Without further ado, let’s dive into the key Apple releases loyal fans and tech enthusiasts will be queuing up for in the coming months.
iPhone 16 lineup
As expected, Apple’s new iPhone 16 lineup includes four models replacing the iPhone 15 series: the iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. All models are integrated with Apple Intelligence, which features a new Camera Control, improved battery life, and the extension of privacy and security into Apple’s cloud system.
The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus come with several upgrades, including a customisable Action Button and a new Camera Control button. Both models boast a 48MP main camera with pixel binning, a 12MP telephoto camera with 2X zoom, and an improved ultrawide camera with autofocus. They will be available in five new color options: ultramarine, teal, pink, white, and black.
Meanwhile, the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max come with larger displays – 6.3 inches and 6.9 inches, respectively – that boast the thinnest bezels in any Apple product. Both models also claim a big boost in battery life and stunning graphics for next-level gaming, powered by the advanced A18 Pro chipset that’s built on a 3-nanometre process.
In terms of pricing, the iPhone 16 starts from RM3,999 for 128GB, while the iPhone 16 Plus starts from RM4,499 for 128GB. Both models offer up to 512GB of storage. The iPhone 16 Pro starts from RM4,999 for 128GB, while the iPhone 16 Pro Max starts from RM5,999 for 256GB, with storage options of up to 1TB. The iPhone 16 lineup will be available for sale in Malaysia next Friday, September 20.
Apple Watch Series 10
Apple Watch fans can now look forward to slimmer and sleeker upgrades to the world’s most popular watch (according to Apple). The Apple Watch Series 10 boasts a larger, brighter OLED display that is 40% brighter while being 10% thinner and lighter. Additionally, the series features the new S10 chipset with a 4-core Neural Engine, powering new capabilities like faster charging, water depth, and temperature sensing. It also comes equipped with sleep apnea tracking, which will be coming soon to the Apple Watch Series 9.
The Apple Watch Series 10 is available in aluminium and titanium in an array of stunning colours and finishes. Pricing starts at RM1,799, with availability in Malaysia soon.
Apple Watch Ultra 2
Two years after the first-generation Apple Watch Ultra was released, we are finally presented with its successor: the Apple Watch Ultra 2. Besides its striking new black titanium finish alongside a Titanium Milanese Loop band, it features the brightest display in any Apple product at 3,000 nits. Other updates include enhanced GPS accuracy, additional workout types, and audio playback through two built-in speakers.
The Apple Watch Ultra 2 starts at RM3,799. Pre-orders start today with availability in stores beginning next Friday, September 20.
AirPods 4 & AirPods Max
In the audio department, Apple has released the all-new AirPods 4, as well as new colours for the AirPods Max. Apple claims that the AirPods 4 is its “most advanced and comfortable open-ear headphones” and will be available in two models: AirPods 4 and AirPods 4 with Active Noise Cancellation (ANC). Both models are equipped with the H2 chip that delivers improvements in sound quality while unlocking intelligent features for taking calls, interacting with Siri, and more.
The AirPods Max are available in five stunning new colors, namely, midnight, starlight, blue, orange, and purple; with complementary finishes alongside other Apple products like Mac and iPad. They now feature USB-C charging capabilities, completing the transition from Lightning charge for all new Apple products, barring the Apple Watch.
The AirPods 4 is priced at RM599 or RM849 for the ANC model, while the AirPods Max with USB-C charging is priced at RM2,499. All AirPods models will be available in Malaysia soon.
