Lexus NX 300 and Lexus RX 350 L are now in Malaysian market. Here are all the details you need to know, as well as a first look inside.
Everyone’s calling it the year for SUVs, and it seems luxury automakers are tapping into the trend early with crossovers of their own. We’re talking about Lexus’ latest NX 300 and RX 350 L, both updated for the year and fresh in the Malaysian market.
After witnessing these two models take centre stage at Lexus’ evening affair last week, we’ve summarised the details on important upgrades, specs, and price tags. Are you buckled in?
Lexus NX 300
A facelift of the NX200t, the latest NX range features four variants: Urban, Premium, Sport, and 300h Hybrid.
Each sport a new grille and bumper on both front and rear facades, centred by compact LED headlamps reminiscent of the LC 500. You can choose from seven colours with four-layered vivid finish (eight for F Sport, which also offers three exclusive interior colour themes/ trim).
Lexus NX 300 F Sport and 300h Hybrid variants get the new 10.3-inch EMVN Display with Mark Levinson audio system, while others have the 8-inch Lexus Display Audio unit. Updates to the palm rest and touchpad make the Remote Touch Interface friendlier, too.
Switch between Normal, Eco and Sport modes (additional Custom mode for F Sport) with ease thanks to new Drive Mode Select Switch Design, guided by six-speed auto transmission. This pairs with the 2.0-litre, four-cylinder engine, churning out the power of 235 horses and 350Nm torque. Like its predecessor, Lexus NX 300 combines D4-S injection with VVT-iW Dual Variable Valve Timing for power that is responsive and fuel-efficient.
What’s new, though, are shock absorbers, as well as retuned springs, stabiliser bars and bushings for enhanced turn-in response and steady cornering. F Sport’s Adaptive Variable Suspension now boasts 650 levels – a far cry from the 2017 model’s 30.

Here are the prices for all four variants:
Lexus NX 300 Urban: RM 311, 900
Lexus NX 300 Premium: RM 329, 800
Lexus NX 300 F Sport: RM387, 900
Lexus NX 300h: RM397, 800
Lexus RX 350 L
Meet the first from the RX range with three rows of seats, making this crossover comfortable for up to seven. Its sharp creases and curves are defined by the black-out C-pillars that create a ‘floating-roof effect’, a single tailpipe, and L-shaped LED taillights.
It’s a little longer to make room for the third seat, but only by 110mm. Flexible cabin layout allows you to transform this seat into boot space, of course. The Luxury version includes 3-zone air-conditioning system.
Under the hood of the same variant, you’ll find 3.5-litre V6 petrol engine producing a silent, seamless 289hp and 358Nm torque. Other versions contain a four-cylinder 2.0-litre powertrain for 235hp and 250Nm. Joining forces are VVT-iW and VVT-i Variable Valve Timing for efficient combustion cycles, optimised by eight-speed auto transmission.
Choose from Normal, Sport S or Eco modes, as well as seven scratch-resistant exterior colours for your Lexus RX 350 L. All variants except F Sport (which features black or dark rose colour themes) come in four interior theme and trim options.
Lexus RX 350 L Premium, Luxury, and F Sport are available from RM 388,800 to RM 422,900.
All new Lexus models come with 5-year factory warranty with unlimited mileage and after-sales support at any of the eight Malaysian outlets. Hybrid vehicles NX300h and RX 360h also come with 8-year battery assurance programme.
All prices listed in this article do not include Peninsular Malaysia registration insurance.
