We’ve all been there – asking ourselves if it is worth it to drop RM300 for a candle, an object that you literally burn.
There are interior decorators extraordinaire, gifted with the artistic eye to curate the homeliest, cosiest corners that croon comfort, belonging, good taste and class at the same time. And then there are some who try as hard as they may, still fall just a little short sometimes.
Lucky for us who fall in the latter category, there’s not much a scented candle or two can’t fix.
We’ve all been there – feeling like our favourite spaces lack just that little something. Light a candle and voila! Watch – and smell – as the atmosphere transforms into something a little bit posher, a little bit calmer and all around a little bit more like home.
The last bit is perhaps the biggest reason why we continue to fork out hundreds for scented candles. Choose the right combination, whether it is something festive like fig and cinnamon or something zen like chamomile and white sage, and it has the power to transport you all the way back home, even if home is hundreds of kilometres away.
It’s almost like a ritual. It’s more than just striking a match and lighting a jar of perfumed wax. As you touch flame to wick, you’re lighting a fire in your home and heart that subtly warms everyone in its light to the idea that every little occasion no matter how small, is worth celebrating.
We’ve all also been there – asking ourselves if it is worth it to drop RM300 for a candle, an object that you literally burn.
For all that a little flame can bring – hope, peace, joy and that ever difficult to attain sense of home, we say yes, it is worth it and more.
In a jar, you’re about to find the illuminating path to unlock your fondest memories of past, appreciation of the situation of present no matter how stagnant, and inspirations for the future.
