After eight decades of shaping history, Celine, the renowned French fashion house is at last venturing into the realm of beauty. The news was announced by Hedi Slimane, the Maison’s Image Director, during the ‘La Collection de l’Arc de Triomphe‘ showcase in Paris. The brand then made an official Instagram post announcing the debut of Celine Beauté—featuring a collection of daily beauty essentials, perfumes and iconic lipsticks.
The lipstick, presented in a gold tube, is introduced as ‘Rouge Triomphe’, a crimson red shade that will be released as a standalone product this upcoming Autumn. However, the overall ‘Le Rouge Celine’ lipstick collection is expected to expand in 2025 to include a total of 15 shades. Among them is ‘La Peau Nue’, a rosy nude shade worn by models during the autumn/winter 2024 show.
Staying true to its timeless elegance, Celine chose to release their first red lipstick as a tribute to French beauty. The lipstick is described as having a satin-finish formula infused with a soft, 70s-inspired blend of rose and rice powder, and wrapped in a minimalist art deco gold casing, reflecting the brand’s couture style, further embossed with Celine’s trademark monogram.
In addition to the lipsticks, Slimane has also announced the development of the Celine Beauté brand as a significant player in the beauty industry. Therefore, fans can expect the release of daily essentials like lip balms, mascaras, eyeliners, powders, and nail polishes in the future. However, when it comes to perfume, this is not Celine’s initial foray, as the Celine’s Haute Parfumerie collection was initially launched in 2019.
But the real question is, when can we expect Celine Beauté to launch in Southeast Asia? While there are no official release dates set for Europe and America, there is optimism for Asian fans awaiting the arrival of this iconic fashion brand to enter beauty market. Truth is, there are still many fashion-beauty brands that have yet to make their mark in Asia, and just last year, we witnessed the introduction of Prada Beauty, Burberry, and the comeback of Rabbane. The demand is evident, as the fusion of fashion and beauty in such a grand manner is not to be underestimated.
Hopefully, Celine Beauté will soon enter the Asian market, allowing us to get our hands on Le Rouge Celine before the excitement fades.
